The Danaan Patriot Party was a transititional political party in the Resurgent Dream during the wide-scale party realignment which took place in the wake of the Shattering. The party was considered the party of the center-right, although it might more accurately be thought of as a party of the economic right and the social center. The party favored privatization of most State services, deregulation of the economy, asbolition or radical reduction of social services, and free trade internationally. On social issues, the party any significant move to the right or left, although it normally supported any move by Parliament to abrograte responsibility for such legislation and to rely upon the legislatures of the severalprincipalities.

The Patriot Party did not claim any Prime Ministers during its existence, although it did participate in a National Unity Government under the leadership of Liberal Minerva Karamanlis. The National Unity Government was formed largely to exclude Thomas Baxter, widely considered to be a dangerous demagogue, from the office of Prime Minister after his Nationalist Party won a plurality but not a majority in the October 2005 elections.

The Patriot Party was led, throughout its history, by Rhodri Llewellyn, a man whose family is well-known and quite popular in the business community. Other notable Patriots included prominent philosopher Daig Waddell and war hero Colonel Zarek Tancsics.

Around the time of the signing of the Danaan Constitution, the Patriot Party merged with the Nationalist Party (now under more moderate leadership) and the Republican Party to form the Conservative Democratic Party. To do so, the Patriots had to move closer to the center on economic issues and further right on social issues, making them a more uniformly center-right party.
