Daniel Masaki was born sixty-five years after the legendary Battle of Yavin to Emperor Andrew Masaki and Senator Jennifer Masaki, both Jedi themselves. The heir apparent to the throne, Daniel is arguably one of the most powerful Jedi Knights ever, having defeated an evil Sith Lord just a year after he began training at the Jedi Academy on Yavin 4 and later on, fought toe-to-toe with the evil Emperor Palpatine himself.

Early Life

As a young heir to the throne, Daniel led a fairly easy life under the careful watch of his mother while his father goes off on Jedi or state business. When times call for both parents to be away on business, he was watched over by great-grandfather Tenchi Masaki, often making small trips through downtown Coredia City to see the sights.

At age 4, he began preschool and learned his ABCs and how to make friends with children of Senators and other high-society citizens. All in all, it was a life that many would envy, a life of privilege few have been born in...

But alas, it was not to last.

It was the year 73 ABY. In the eighth year of his life, an evil race known as the Shivans invaded Coreworlds, crushing world in an devastating war that cost millions of lives. With the help of numerous allies, the young heir, his sister and brothers and thousands of other children were taken away from Coredia by the Emperor's command just hours before the Shivans assaulted the capital planet and took refuge in giant colonies at the black hole cluster known as Hell's Gate. After destroying and consuming Coredia, the Shivans moved on the cluster, intent on finishing off what's left of the planet. In the ensuing battle, Daniel was nearly killed by vacuum exposure when a blast ruptured the hull section of the colony he was stationed in, but was saved by Jedi Council Member Alex Regalo, who commanded the refugee fleet.

Fortunately, his father, commanding the entire Sovereign Battlefleet, managed to defeat the Shivans by catching them between massive singularities and his own superlaser platforms finally destroying the almost-unbeatable Lucifer flagship and forcing the rest of the Shivans to flee, never to return.

Shortly after the war, the Senate was moved to Juria, a secondary capital and Daniel continued to grow in the Force, having tasted war for the first time in his young life.

Jedi Training

It was the year 77 ABY. It was the year that twelve-year-old Daniel began training at the esteemed Yavin 4 Jedi Academy, under Headmaster Armas Elendil. It was the year when he met many more friends and it was the year his grandfather Alex, now a Dark Jedi Master, returned. Coming under the tutelage of then-Knight Kartion and other Knights and Masters, he learned a lot within a few short weeks, lessons that would prove valuable in a very short time.

It began with a small pirate fleet who slipped past the defenses and tried to kidnap the heir and other young Padawans of the Academy, but they proved to be more than a match for the pirates, and the Masters arrested them with ease. A few more weeks passed, then under the orders of Alex Masaki and the Sith Lord Tak'a-Tamen, an Imperial Remnant force moved on Yavin, hoping to capture the young Jedi for them. Alex personally led the stormtrooper forces and though they were defeated, Daniel met his grandfather for the first time and was easily beaten. It took his Master Kartion to drive off the Dark Jedi and the battle ended in another victory for the Jedi forces, but with several casualties.

The third and final battle occurred one week later, when a young friend of Daniel, Eamonn, suddenly had visions of an attack on his homeworld, an attack caused by the Sith Lord and his minion. Wasting no time, Daniel and the Jedi Knights moved on Tortuga DN with his father's fleets as backup and fought through a number of enemy forces before engaging the Sith Lord himself, while Andrew sought to turn his own father from the dark path.

In the end, Daniel engaged the Sith Lord alone and with the help of another Master, Justin, defeated Tak'a-Tamen with a power that would later be known as a Nova Bolt attack. In the ensuing storm of the Dark Lord's death, Daniel was lifted hundreds of feet into the air and fell back down, only to be saved by the combined efforts of his father and grandfather. The battle was over, and Tak'a-Tamen was defeated...or was he?
