The Democratic States of Dankism begain as an expirment by Pody Dank, as a direct result of his groundbreaking paper, The Dankist. While still reltatively young, the states have become a force in both international politics as well as, for many, an example of an idealist country.

History

Dankism from Nice Cool People

Background

In the middle of the year 2005, the government of Nice Cool People was becoming increasingly undemocratic. Its leader, Dom Jamerson, outlawed all political parties aside from his own, and greatly deminished his citizens political freedoms. Longtime political activist (and anarchist) Pody Dank, seeing the opportunity, published The Dankist. This essay, almost a direct contrast to Plato's Republic, can be outlined in 4 major topics:

• The most fair form of government for a country is one controlled directly by the people.
• People must be allowed to control their own lives, without governmental intervention.
• People must also control their own personal economies without governmental intervention.
• A country must promote free markets, and not interfere in them, to promote national as well as international peace.

Reprocutions from The Dankist

Upon Pody Dank's publication of The Dankist, the government of Nice Cool People condemned Dank and sent soldiers to arrest him. However, the essay sparked many of Nice Cool People's citizens with a furvor. They quickly formed The Dankist Militia, determinded to keep Dank out of the government's hands.

Armed with AK-47s, MP5s, and MG-42s loaned by Jey, a regional member and longtime rival of Nice Cool People, the Dankist militia held down the NCP forces for over 6 months. During that time, a propangda war began turnning the people of Nice Cool People against their government. Soon, thousands of men and women were enlisting on the Dankish side. After a series of bloody Dankish victories, the Dankish military realized they had a great advantage. On Januray 17, 2006, they openly claimed sucession from NCP, creating the Democratic States of Dankism.
