History

  • c. 300 A.D. - Danver the Great of the Romana Tribe starts uniting the scattered tribes of the Northern portion of the Essian Peninsula. He unites them under the banner of Danversia.
  • c. 325 A.D. - Emperor Caliph I, Danver's son, appoints himself the first emperor. Tribal heads that join Danversia are given titles of nobility and compose a sort of Senate. Writes the Caliph Book, a surprisingly conclusive and fair set of rules for governing.
  • 398 A.D. - Panic ensues as Prince Winthrop I, only heir of the elderly Emperor Caliph II, disappears mysteriously.
  • 402 A.D. - Winthrop I re-appears in Romana. Claims to have traveled to a different world where he visited a place called Rome for 3 years. Nobility claim he doesn't have the mental capacity to follow in Caliph II's footsteps.
  • 406 A.D. - Caliph II dies. Despite objection from Danversian nobility, Emperor Winthrop I is coronated.
  • 5th Century A.D. - Claiming to follow the example he saw in Rome, Emperor Winthrop I starts building the military. If a tribal head receives an offer to join Danversia and refuses, the head's people are conquered. Marks a period of massive expansion to the west and southwest over the Tagian Sea. Winthrop is given the name Emperor Winthrop the Conqueror. Sultan Guara Colo of Anapest to the south orders the building of the Mortian Gate, a gate at the only passage to Anapest from Danversia via land, the Codish Valley in the Mortian Mountains. The gate is built to prevent any kind of Danversian invasion.
  • 9th Century A.D. - Danversia halts expansion and recognizes the nations of Anapest, Fika, Muldornia, and Trolan on the Rojian Continent. The whole landmass is controlled by the 5 nations. The nations remain at peace.
  • 1046 A.D. - Emperor Richard IV is the first Emperor to die without a male heir. According to the Caliph Book, his daughter, Neva, is appointed the first Empress.
  • 1058 A.D. - Sultan Gorbo Pesta of Anapest thinks that Danversia is week now that a woman is in charge. He leads his forces into the southern regions of Danversia and conquers roughly 1/4 of Danversia. Empress Neva responds swiftly and begins to drive Pesta's forces back. Empress Neva dies later that year. Her son, Caliph V is coronated.
  • 1060 A.D. - Emperor Caliph V drives Anapestic forces back to the Mortian Gate. Realizing the army was being spread too thin, he recalls forces from all but the Northern Islands and modern-day Axario.
  • 1061 A.D. - Danversian forces push into Anapest and capture Anapest City. All formerly Anapestic land south of the Essian Peninsula is left alone. The nation of Pekt arises where Anapest once ruled.
  • 1100-1800 A.D. - The Isolation Period. Danversia stays out of international politics for the most part and stands by as Muldornia, Fika, Trolan, and Pekt set up colonies.
  • 1801-1843 A.D. - The Great War erupts. Danversia barely comes out on top and Muldornia, Fika, and Trolan are broken up. In order to keep the Empire from becoming to large and collapsing on itself, Emperor Edmond IV grants autonomy to the Northern Islands and Axario and implements a formal Parliament, but retains the Senate of nobility.
  • 1973 A.D. - Alexander Pesta runs for Parliament under the Heretigio Anapesto party. Wins in a landslide victory over his opponent and begins to sow the seeds of revolution.
  • 1987 A.D. - When Pesta is denied a motion to allow Anapest to be free, he sparks the Anapestic Revolution. General Georgio Sezaar of the Southern Danversian army division joins him and together they gather supporters.
  • May 9, 1987 A.D. - The JXG Incident: Pesta and Sezaar orchistrate the storming of the JXG civilian automobile and military armor factory. When the Danversian army nears, the rebels inside are ordered to blow the building, killing 3,500 civilians.
  • June 17, 1987 A.D. - In response to the death of 8 senators and the JXG Incident, Danversian Spec Ops launches operation Double Guillotine with the purpose of capturing Pesta and Sezaar. Sezaar is captured and sent to Camp Donley Ultra-Maximum Security Prison, but Pesta escapes.
  • 1988 A.D. - Rebels split into 2 factions, Heretigio Anapesto, led by Bruce Celaan in Sezaar's absence, and the Anapestic Liberation Army (ALA) led by Pesta.
  • August-October, 1988 A.D. - Anapest City falls to the ALA. Pesta orders the Mortian gate to be fortified. The Danversian army attempts to move forces through the Mortian Gate, but all fail. One attempt is made at an amphibious landing, which also fails.
  • November 9, 1988 A.D. - Anapest is granted freedom. Alexander Pesta declares himself dictator and Supreme Commander of Anapest.
  • 1989 A.D. - The Trochaic Islands and Corporagia follow Anapest's lead and declare independence.
  • 1990s A.D. - Decade plagued with sporadic attacks, mostly car bombs, by Heretigio Anapesto, now considered a terrorist organization. Their purpose is to overthrow the Danversian government once and for all.
  • April 2002 A.D. - Corporagian Conflict starts. Danversia tries to bring Corporagia back into the Empire. Peace accords are made and Corporagia is allowed to remain free.
  • July 2002 A.D. - Corporagia agrees to become a territory of Danversia.
  • January 2003 A.D. - Corporagia is sold to Axario.
  • July 28, 2003 A.D. - Emperor Marcus X is assassinated by Heretigio Anapesto.
  • August, 2003 A.D. - Marcus X's son, Noah III, is coronated. Noah III revamps Danversian government, changing the Empire title to Kingdom, the Emperor title to King, Imperial term to Royal, replacing the Senate of Nobility with a representitive Senate, and replacing Parliament with a Congress.
  • March 24-27, 2004 A.D. - Carrigan Hostage Crisis: Heretigio Anapesto holds the President's daughter and her entire middle school hostage for the release of Georgio Sezaar. He is released and 16 of the 24 terrorists are captured and taken to Camp Donley. The rest, including Bruce Celaan, escape to Anapest.
  • May 9, 2005 A.D. - Anapest detonates a nuclear weapon in the city of Coldwater, beginning the Danversian War. Anapest invades and conquers the majority of the southern portion of Danversia.
  • May-June 2005 A.D. - Axario occupies Romana to protect Danversia. Danversia asks to become a state in Axario. Axario declares war on Anapest.
  • July 2005 A.D. - Peace summit declared in Diosono. Following the summit, Danversia secedes from the alliance but King Noah III dissolves all representitive governmental aspects in "an effort to regain strength without the constraints of beurocracy."
