The current Prime Minister of Roudland, David J Roud happens to be only the 4th Prime Minister the country has had since 1734 who shares the name of the nation. This is coincidence; Roudland got its present name after a standardisation of its spelling in 1549, when it changed from Roauldland. This name was that of the Roauld dynasty, who ruled autocratically from 768AD until 1532AD.

David J Roud was born in 1980 to a working class family in lower Retroit, and attended Polston Primary, Falmere High and Carnster Grammar School. At 18, he was conscripted into the Mobile Infantry as part of Roudland's national service programme. After earning the rank of Corporal during training, he commanded an 8 man infantry squad in the 139th Mechanised Infantry Reserve Corps. He briefly saw combat when deployed to the 3rd Army Task Force that secured peace in Abbayash during the civil war there in 1999. His unit was involved in numerous battles during the 6 week campaign to restore peace to the country, and he recieved the Roudland Army Medal and Conduct Medal for Valour during his time in the country.

After leaving the Mobile Infantry, Roud attended Roston Military College to read International Conflict and Politics. He was awarded a II:I, and joined the Centre Conservative Party straight from College. After two years in the party, he won the leadership competition and lead the party to victory in the 2004 general election.

Since 2004, he has undertaken a large-scale reform programme on all the major areas of government expenditure, including Defence, Law and Order and the Economy. The most notable government legislation of the past two years include the 2004 Police Powers Act, the 2004 Healthcare Redistribution Act, the 2005 Armed Forces Reconstitution and Reform Act, and the 2005 review of the 1997 Multinational Trading Laws. These policies have proved to be popular with many of Roudland's citizens, with opinion polls placing Roud's support at the 67% mark.

He has presided over several potential political crises, such as when the Retroit Police Dept. were accused of racism by a civil rights group. His solution to this problem was to implement a full scale reform of police procedure in the major cities, and to dissolve the civil rights group in question. His support ratings jumped 4% after this incident. Roud has also taken the contry into foriegn wars on three occasions; the October 2004 Moronyickan War, the December 2004 Feetbunions War, and the October 2005 Hannigan Island conflict.

His diplomatic duties as head of state have led him to develop strong bonds between himself and other prominent Alliance leaders, such as Patriarch Vladimir Nerinsky of Kegmenistan, Imperator Letton of Super Rome, and the King of Great Wrightland, Philip Royal. In particular, Roud has formed strong links with Roudland's two foremost allies, Gothria and Violet Strawberries. The relationship between PM Roud and PM Ed Clayton has been shown to be robust, especially in times of tension, with the two leaders working hard to stabilise and assist the region and its inhabitants. Roud has also fostered good relations with the young leader of Violet Strawberries, Queen Frances. Also the age of 26, the Queen has visited Roudland many times, and several schemes, such as a healthcare crossover programme and the formation of VDEF (the Violet Strawberries Defence Force) have been enacted over the past few years.

In June of 2005, PM Roud proposed a new piece of legislation, the Military Service Reform Act, which proposed that Mobile Infantry recruits could study a part-time foundation course in their chosen college subject whilst in the MI. After gathering a lot of momentum due to notable society figures and newspapers supporting the act, it was passed in January 2006.

The next large piece of legislation that is due to be enacted by the government is the Oil Tax cessation Act.
