Prime Minister of Canada
The Canadian UN Delegate also holds the position of Canadian Prime Minister according to the constitutional definition.[1] The current Prime Minister of Canada is Carbanousa.
Role in Canada
The constitutional outline and definition of the Prime Minister's authority and role is modeled considering that Canada does not have a founder therefore shifting the balance of power between the Prime Minister and the Cabinet.
Election
Canada's UN Delegate is elected via the NationStates endorsement process. During each cabinet election which occurs once every three months, or after a change in the sitting UN Delegate, an open poll will approve or disapprove granting the UN Delegate/Prime Minister administrator privileges for the next cabinet term. The PM must appoint a Deputy Prime Minister.
Duties and Authority
The Prime Minister is given administrator privileges on the regional off-site forum and is required to hold an open poll for all UN resolutions to determine his vote as UN Delegate. The Prime Minister also holds a seat in the Canadian Cabinet. The PM is entitled to tie breaking votes in the event of a deadlock occurring in an election for a cabinet position or in a cabinet vote for the appointing of a minister and is otherwise not entitled to vote in elections or cabinet votes for appointing new ministers.
The PM may appoint a member to fill the position of a cabinet minister if a Minister fails to hold office and the Deputy Minister position is vacant, or if a vote of confidence fails to grant a Deputy Minister the permanent title and portfolio of Minister or call a special election to fill any vacant Cabinet position.
The PM also appoints the official regional Website Designer and official regional Cartographer, as well as playing a crucial role in handling the Recall of Ministers process and the Cabinet Disclosure process. The PM has constitutional authority to eject members from the region without cabinet consultation under certain extreme scenarios.[2]
The PM is expected to use his position to be active in Cabinet discussions and Regional Defence, and as the leader of the Canadian Cabinet, the PM plays a pivotal role in nearly every aspect of governing Canada.
