Demetrios Raoul is a Socialist politician in the Pantocratorian Imperial Parliament, and the Drapeur Government's Minister for Foreign Affairs. He is married to his wife Irena, with whom he has four children, Georgios, Amelie, Hera and Markos. He is bilingual - his family was mostly French speaking, but Raoul and his parents moved frequently, and most of his childhood was spent in Greek-speaking areas of Pantocratoria. His manner tends to be blunt and confrontational, although he is quite intelligent. Physically, he is a broad-shouldered, overweight man of above average height and a gradually receding hairline. His most caraciatured feature in political cartoons is his thick neck, which is often depicted as being far broader than his head - such caraciatures often also depict the Foreign Minister's arms as being far too long, so that he drags his knuckles behind him like a gorilla. Raoul is generally thought to find such political caraciatures of himself to be amusing.
