His Imperial Majesty Emperor Demetrius IV was proclaimed to be emperor on the death of his father, seven days before he was even born, before the child's sex was even known (it was reasoned that the writs could be adjusted to say empress if it was a girl). The child was born on the 8th of March 1532, but died just three days later, leaving his uncle to succeed him as Emperor Demetrius V.
