The Democratic Union is currently the largest political party in Bulvik boasting control of both the legislative and executive branches of government. The Democratic Union has played an important part in Bulvik history as the longest standing political party, as having led more governments than any other and for having played a role in post-revolution Bulvik. Today the party is led by Ludwig Schmitt, Prime Minister of Bulvik, and promotes a center-right political platform.

The party generates policy from two separate spheres of influence in the party; the conservative and the liberal wings. The conservative wing of the party supports an anti-UN stance, respect for tradition and a moral conscience and a more interventionist stance on international issues. The liberals stand stronger on economic conservatism and believe in a smaller government. Both wings unite and promote Christianity yet the party viciously refrains from begin termed a 'Christian-party'.
