In the March 2005 census, Falastur's population was recorded as 3,490,942,294, making it the largest nation in the continent of Africa, although it is still several thousand nations down in the entire world. While it's population density is remarkably low, even for this figure, this fact is misleading, as around 2,200 million citizens live inside its cities or large towns, with the rest living in smaller settlements spread out over Falastur's many and vast expanses of land. Indeed, it's capital, Terila, is one of the largest cities in the world, being home to over 132 million people at the last count. It's high literacy levels - 99% estimated, 2005 - are attributed to its high-standard education system, which is compulsory to the age of 18 and strives to provide every Falasturian child with qualifications that will enable them to pursue most courses of employment once they leave secondary school, or continue on to higher education in University. The official religion of Falastur is Falasturian Methodism, although many - due largely to the wide dispersal of Protestant Christian denominations - consider it merely to be Protestant Christianity. However, the citizens of Falastur are free to worship as they please, and thus, many religions are practised commonly in Falastur.

Originally a group of islands off the west coast of Africa, Falastur was established as an English colony in 1706, but in only nine years, had renounced its English suzerainity and proceeded to become a Colonial Kingdom. With its position directly in the line of the Trade Triangle between Africa, the Americas and Europe, Falastur was able to rapidly expand as a commercial centre, and from the beginning of its existence, opened itself to immigration from any and all. After the lessons learned from disastrous early expansion campaigns, Falasturians came to value the friendship of native peoples, viewing them much higher than their European "uncle" states, and so it was in 1768 that slavery was made illegal in Falastur and its territories. As a result, Falastur soon became a haven for slaves escaping as stowaways on board trading ships, and to this day, Falastur retains a high level of African descent amongst its peoples, although still European ancestry outnumbers African. Due to the vast multi-culturalism of Falastur - partly a result of its open immigration policy, and partly a result of its vast and far-reaching Colonial expeditions - Falastur maintains English as its primary language, but upholds many minority languages as "official regional languages". As such, every citizen of Falastur speaks English as a primary language, but an estimated 97% are multi-lingual, and an estimated 45% of those citizens are fluent in that second language. It is not unknown for the more exceptional regions to have as many as four or five "official regional languages".
