Early life

One of six children, Dexter was raised in the Waterside District of Capriso. He was a mediocre student as he soon discovered his love for football and preferred playing over studying. At the tender age of seven, he was able to attend a football academy and was soon spotted by a scout from local team Capriso FC.

In the early 1980s, he couldn't get his foot in the door as he was rejected from the youth squads of Saint Maria FC, AC Solina and Marienburg United. Dexter continued to play for Capriso FC's youth team and at the age of 15 was signed by South Maria City.

Club career

Dexter went on to become a skillfull and popular striker for South Maria City, where he spent four seasons, until he was signed by Kings Division side, Isadora City for £1,000,000. Dexter remained at Isadora City for six years, where he quickly became the crowds favourite and a deadly striker.

In 1998 Dexter was sold to Hampton Wanderers for a record £25,000,000, after turning down the chance to play for league champions Marienburg United. Dexter St John has been at Hampton Wanderers for 9 seasons and has stated that he would like to return to either of his boyhood clubs, South Maria City, who are currently in Division 1 or Capriso FC, currently in Division 9.
