A lawyer by training, Diana Silina served as a prosecutor in the City of Harrington and the City of Courtland before joining the Dominion of Upper Virginia's Directorate of Justice. Early in her career, Silina met career Army officer Craig Altman. Although Silina and Altman were rumoured to be a couple, any romantic interest quickly evaporated leaving behind only their mutual interest in political power and a sense that each could exploit the other to further their individual ambitions.

While Altman eventually rose to the rank of general and the position of Commander-in-Chief, Silina rose to the top of the DoJ, becoming Attorney General. In this capacity, Silina served as one of the three members of the Dominion's Provisional Ruling Council under Altman's Chairmanship.

Although Silina was known as cold and calculating, she was also known for being a restraining influence on General Altman's well-known cruelty. Where Altman was known for summary executions and extrajudicial murders, Silina was known for strict adherence to the Dominion's authoritarian legal code.

Silina was assassinated in 2004 under confusing circumstances. General Altman claimed that her death was the work of the revolutionary Free Virginia Liberation Army, in league with the DoJ's Criminal Investigative Bureau (CIB). Later investigations, however, determined that Altman himself ordered her execution.

Silina’s death marked the end of the PRC. Also, it ultimately led to the 2004 coup by air force officers and the Chamber of Industrials that removed Altman from power and reestablished civilian rule in Upper Virginia.
