General

Dincotians are a non-anthropomorphic reptillian dinosaurian species made up of theropod/dromeosaurid creatures. They are a significant portion of the population of Miokalia and their home planet, Dincota. Their species is diverse in shape to the extent that they range from more Allosaurian features to more Raptoran features. Although the size differences between the extremes are reletively small. The males and females look identical with no external differences in appearence.

 Avg height: 5' 8"
 Avg weight: 170 Lbs

Despite being similar in appearance (but slightly smaller than) to Ghargonians, Dincotians have a very different culture and unrelated history. It is not known if the Dincotians are in any way related to the Grishnaki, a similarly sized reptillian race of somewhat similar intelligence that left the planet of the Ghargonians. Any connection between the species is unknown, besides that they are all reptillian.

Their physical features are as such:

All dincotians have large snouts and tails
Eyes: range from Bluish-green to yellow to orange.
Scales: range from dark brown to beige to olive.
Feathering: (only on some individuals). Usually black or white in color and on head and back.
Digits/Fingers: 2-3 very dextrous digits, 1 opposable digit
Locomotion habit: capable of both digitigrade and plantigrade walking habits
 Eating habit: Omnivorous

Dominant religion:

 Atheism / Secular moralism

 Kohtohkhan Raptoric
 Dibochar

Anatomical/Psysiological

The diets of dincotians tend to be high in protein and very low in fiber. Which means there is less emphasis on agricultural grains in their history and more emphasis on fishing and herding in their early societies. Dincotians are evolved from carnivorous reptiles, which may explain their high protein-requirement.

The Dincotian brain is smaller than that or similarly-sized mammals. However the dincotian brain has fewer unused regions and has higher dendrite density than mammalian brains of the same size. The reptilian regeneration factor also causes the Dincotian brain not to suffer as much from aging or damage so most Dincotians remain lucid for the entirity of their lives and occourances of permanent mental retardation are reletively rare by comparison to mammals. The Dincotian brain tends to have an average left-brain compared to the human one. However the Dincotian right brain is substantially more evolved than that of most sentient mammals. It is so evolved, that it is also capable of quickly and readily cross-applying both left-brain and right-brain-associative concepts instantly without much thought. This explains why often Dincotian artists tend to be engineers as well.

Dincotians have an enormous sinus cavity, with it they are able to produce a very wide array of sounds. The cavity also allows them to emulate sounds found in other languages, this is probably why the species is usually able to speak foreign languages with surprizing clarity. There are three places that Dincotians tend to speak from: the front of the mouth, the sinus cavity and the back of the mouth. Each section sounds very different from the others due to the different accoustic properties of each area.

Most Dincotians have extensive genetic modification and/or cybernetic components in their bodies. This is because the government of Dincota required that the entire population be treated with vector gene-therapy for a number of illnesses and natural ailments. The life expectancy for Dincotians is around 340 years, this is because it was 340 years ago that this policy of universal vectoring went into place. It is cosidered morally reprehensible and illegal for someone to refuse vector treatments to their offspring or anyone else. Of course, offering what essentially adds up to a cure for aging and death isn't too hard to sell to an atheist society which doesn't know how to handle loss-of-life and that lacks any mythology for afterlife. Philosophically, Dincotians are willing to make any modifications to their bodies necessary to continue their lives, since they see nature as a 'flawed hashing-up of materials and mathmatics' which 'lacks any reasonably obvious meaning or practical guidance'. Dincotians have even been willing to be transoformed into Malych in order to avoid the uncertainty of mortality.

Anthropological

Dincotians have existed in tribal units for as long as recorded history, and according to archeological finds, may have existed in these tribal pack units for millions of years prior to recorded history. Civilization is considered to have begun when there appears to be a genetic homogenization of the species at around 90,000 years ago. At that point, there is evidence of similar packs living in herding/hunter-gatherer communes and individuals traveling between these villages. The evolution of Dincotian civilization resembles that of any other civilization until about 65,000 years ago. A clear distinction begins to form between ideologies. The dincotians who have a genetic predisposition to ecstatic states (also known as the 'god gene') become locallized in one region (Mokdoratchai), where the dincotians who lack this gene (Kohtohkhans) find themselves in the north. For a long time there is minimal exchange between the two. The largest war in dincotian history happens between these two ideologies. In the end, the dincotians who lacked the 'god gene', the Kohtohkhans, eventually won. The Kohtohkhans won on the grounds that they were able to amass supplies and treat disease more effectively than the Mokdoratchai phallanx armies. The Mokdorachai would treat illness by 'faith healing', which proved to be less effective than the primitive surgical and scientific medical techniques used by the Kohtohkhans. Victory was won because the other side simply ran out of people. To this day, the Dincotians lack the 'god gene' and as a society are strictly secular in their ideology
