The Disestablishment Act, 2004 (20-21 Robt 6 SIN c43)1, promulgated on 15 January 2004, formally disestablished the Reformed Church of Isselmere as the state religion of Isselmere, Anguist, and Detmere, as well as the Church of Nieland as the state religion of Nieland. With the dissolution of the ties between Church and State, the Temple Council, which had advised the King on matters of faith, was no longer part of the Council of State and dissolved itself on 23 March 2004.
