Dominion Military
The armed forces of the Dominion have seen conflicts on large scale and small scale and have developed a very well trained fighting force due to these experiences.

History
The Soviet army has seen action in many conflicts throughout its history. In the early days of the elves inhabiting the island they had fought against each other over the strategic resources of the island aswell as fighting against foriegn invasion. This warlike attitude had brought discipline and constant growth to the technology at the hands of Elves. Many of the elven clans maintained small numbers of infantry and had exceptional marine forces prefering to use the infantry to simply protect the villas of their territory while the marines were the toughest trained and the strongest. The constant warring did have the positive effect of allowing the clans the technology and skill to defend themselves they used that to their benefit. Whenever a foriegn foe attempted to attack the island they would be met with the fiercest battles they had ever seen, and often would not survive and the supplies they would bring with them would be used by the clans. By the end of the fifteenth century the Elves had all been united under a single king whom harnessed the wealth and skill to expand the races influence. In 1506 he launched a daring invasion of Faroe and brought it under his wing after a raid inwhich resulted in the destruction of one of the largest coastal cities on the island. The same occurred with Jan Mayan in 1515 inwhich he forced both nations to submit to his rule and their armies loyalty. In 1580 the elves now again amassed a massive army and began several invasion of Greenland and subjugated it by the end of 1587 in 5 campaigns. From then until the early 1800's The elves used the territories for raiding shipping and thwarting invasions continiung its warlike heritage and expanding the wealth and standing of the military.
The early 20th century brought change as the people grew tired of the Imperiale. The revolution grew to great strengths and overthrew the Tsar and executed his family and begun the Soviet Union. The Tsars armies in Faroe, Jan mayan, and Greenland never returned leaving the Elven races on all the islands alongside the natural inhabitants. Recently the Soviet military has seen action making its prominence as a wordly power again noticed.
Army
The army is comprised of a full volunteer force as is rest of the armed forces. The army is the smallest branch in the entire armed forces but is well equipped and trained. It has seen action in every condition europe has to offer. The army specialises in Mountainous and forrest warfare since that is what most of the nations terrain is comprised of.
Special Units
Spetsnaz - The Spetsnaz has only one goal, which they need to accomplish at all costs. Which means they have the licence to kill at will, all just to accomplish a goal. The Spetsnaz have also created a fierce reputation as one of the best special forces in the world today due to the very harsh standards of their training. They are controlled by the GRU (the Dominion military intelligence agency). Spetnaz GRU teams usually wear standard-issue VDV uniforms, light blue VDV berets and unit patches in order to avoid identification.
Kommando SpezialKraefte (KSK) - The KSK will operate under the control of the Dominion Crisis Section. They may include:
- Defence of Johnston Island or CIS territory.
- Deterrence and de-escalation of crisis situations
- Peace keeping/peace support missions
- Strategic recon
- Deep penetration raids
- Hostage rescue/CT operations
Although unit missions include operating against high value targets such as lines of communication, enemy headquarters and long range recon, particular emphasis is being placed on ensuring the safety of Johnston Island citizens in war or conflict zones, evacuating noncombatants, and rescuing hostages or downed pilots.
The following is requirements must be met before a candidate can enter into the KSK's training course:
- Officers have to be under 30years of age, and NCOs under 32.
- Candidates can come from any part of the Army.
- Candidates must be airborne qualified.
- Candidates must volunteer for at least 6 years of service with the KSK.
- Einzelkaempferlehrgang 1- A training course that all combat arms Officers and most senior NCO's (Staff Seargeants and above) must successfully complete.
* Selection Process at Calw (KSK's Blackwood training center)
1) 1 Day Psycological test (computer assisted testing)
2) 1 Week of selection.
3) 2 Days of physical fitness testing (1 Minute maximum situps, 1 minute max. pushups, 3 10m sprint, stand jumping, 12 minute run)
4) 500m swimming under 15 min.
5) Standard Johnston Island Assault course in max 1:40 min
6) 7 Km Fieldrun with 20kg backpack in 52:00 min
7) Additional psychological tests (3 days)
Upon sucessfully completing the basic screening and selection course the new recruit goes on to attend more specialized training courses.

Small Arms
Airforce
Air superiority is the key doctrine of the airforce. This is the reason behind the massive number of Air Superiority built fighters in the nation and only a small number of bomber capable aircraft. AWAC aircraft are always doing patrols around the EEZ of the Dominion usually there are 4 aircraft in the air but there may be 8 if tensions are heightened making airal combat more favorable to Dominion fighters. There are always atleast 3 Prowlers in the air around the Dominion EEZ aswell in the event there are any enemy fighters approaching on a vector to target the AWAC systems they will be able to scramble their radars to allow the AWAC time to flee and friendly fighters to arrive.
Dominion Fighters always use AWACS for guidance to targets until they are within close enough range to use their missiles at which time they will turn on their onboard radar systems and engage the enemy and then turn them off again when they turn for home fields making it harder to detect them.
Equipment
The navy of the Dominion is by far the most skilled and most advanced navy in the region. This is mainly because the Dominion is completely surrounded by water so it relies upon the navy the most out of all the branches so it consistently recieves more funding then any other branch in dollars per ship ratio to maintain this supremecy over the waters of Europe.
Equipment
CVN-77 - This is an advanced version of the Nimitz Aircraft Carrier designed to reduce its signature aswell as electronic self-interference. It has a reduced cost compared to many nations aircraft carriers as the design and materials have made this possible. Its Signature is reduced by the curved flight deck edges, enclosed antenna farms, smaller islands and internal aircraft elevators to add to the maximum stealth. It also has expanded badnwidth giving more onboard and offboard capability giving the ship a communications edge.
Kirov - The largest class of Cruisers on the Sea and the most expensive to maintain. These are extremely upscaled versions of the Cruiser and carry more firepower then that of a regular cruiser. These ships are often the size of battleships that serve in the fleets of other nations and are well prided upon because of their huge gun platforms.
Seawolf Nuclear Powered Attack Submarine
Typhoon - The largest class of Ballistic submarines on the sea. These mammoths swallow the attack submarines in size aswell as many Ballistic submarines of other nations.
Bismarck - Largest class of Battleships on the Sea. The Dominion has fitted these already Bemouths to operate as Command ships in the absence of a carrier aswell as operate anti-shipping helicopters making these the most powerfull ships in the fleet right behind the Ballistic Submarines and Aircraft Carriers.

Military Intelligence
GRU
GRU Headquarters:
The GRU headquarters itself, nicknamed "The Aquarium," may be accessed either through an entrance located on the Khodinka airfield, or through a narrow lane through a ten-meter high wall behind the Institute for Cosmic Biology. The main GRU office is a glass-encased but visibly rundown nine-story tower surrounded on at least three sides by a two-story structure. An adjacent 15-story structure outside this secure area is also a GRU facility, including both offices and residential accomodations for current and former GRU staff and their families.
Embassies and Bases
GRU uses various techniques to monitor the embassies of foriegn nations inside the Dominion aswell as use its embassies/consulates in foriegn countries to monitor the actions of the nation. This is to ensure the security of the Dominion in any and all forms aswell as gather possible intelligence that is vital to the state or possibly usefull in finding out illegal activities of a nation. Embassies and bases are equipped with extensive HUMINT and SIGINT to make their operations possible.
VDV
The VDV is an independent Branch of the Military even though it is comprised Soley of one group. The VDV is the Airborne Forces of the Dominions military might. Training and requirements for this unit are more extensive then that of other branches and this can always be realised by their performance on the field of battle as they have one goal--exactly like the Spetsnaz which they are often confused with--when they are on the field. The VDV is different then all the airborne forces of Europe, this is because it is mechanized in movement. While all other paradivisions of Western Europe are trained extensively for drop and walk missions or drop and hold missions the VDV is trained to operate light combat vehicles and be on the offensive as a mechanized force to seize key points of the battlefield with the rapid movement that other airborne forces lack allowing them to be dropped farther away from heavily air defended targets.
