Duke David IV
Born Duke David Brockmann IV, David was born into the Royal Brockmann family on February 14th 1979. His father, Duke Peter I, was one of Brockmann's best Duke's. With his important treaties with nations such as Austria, Germany and Hungary, Brockmann was able to survive the Cold War.
David was born to lead, and was the oldest of the male of his family, which would put him in charge when it was time for his father to eather step down, or die. His teenage years were spent at the Brockmann Military Institute, where he excelled in all of his classes, except the math courses. He was set up to marry, the Duchess of Copenhagen, Leslie. This was something that he dreamed of, a beautiful woman that he was set up to marry, there love was genuine and as they dated they were followed by the media. They were married on July 17th 1999, this wedding was something of a farrytale, as the archbiship of Dornst, wed them. Most of the remaining monarchies in Europe were there to witness this great event, and was generally smiled upon by the public.
After scandels arouse about his father, David was handed the reins, on May 4th 2002. This annointing of the new Duke of Brockmann, was astounding. The Brockmann family had the Pope come and annoint him the new Duke of Brockmann. Crowds roared as the crown on Brockmann was placed on his head, his father was very proud as he knew, the country knew it was time for David to lead the country.
As leader of the Grand Duke of Brockmann, David was able to establish his own laws and regulations. Many of which were feircly conservative, which raised the question of "Are you placing a Fascist government?" of course this question was never asked fearing the penalty of treason, but it was very popular amoung many other countries to ask such a question of the Duke when he visited. Of course he said he wasn't, but it basically was a fascist government. Gloryfing the military, aswell as soo many conservative laws, as well as the extremely lavish spending on the military, mostly the air force.
February 28th 2003, David recieved his first combat expirence at the helm of the Brockmann War Machine as many small maxist rebel factions popped out of the Permian Oil Basin. Which was at one time it's seperate country but was invaded just before the end of World War II as David's grandfather David III feared that the soviets might invade the west, making The Grand Dutchy one of the first to go. As this crisus arouse, David III thought ahead and invaded the poor oil rich nation, which was capable of supplying the Grand Dutchy's oil hungry military. As these Rebels began hoping for non-voilent talks for independance, David knew that it would be disaterous if he were to allow it. The economy would fall apart aswell as the country would lose half it's profit, the rebels grew more violent as there demands were not met, and formed rebel factions to terrorize the Grand Dutchy's army. David ordered air strikes on rebel bases, which happened and brought the rebels to their knees, but didn't defeat them, he still hadn't defeated them in a feild battle which is something that would crush the rebellion for good. He allowed his enemy form a revolutionary army that massed 10,000 but that army was no match for the mechinized forces of the Grand Dutchy, as David Crushed the army, with no prissoners. After this victory David appointed a man to take charge of the situation and become the regional govenor of the Permian Oil Basin, Vladimir Yukiosov, a prominant figure amoung the Permian Oil Basin's elite, but was fiercly conservative or so David thought. Vladimir secretly orginized a 2nd communist army to oppose David's top of the line military machine that was the Grand Dutchy's Pride. He did so and attacked the Dutchy army outside Permian City (the capital of The Permian Oil Basin) and defeated the large force (40,000 men) this defeat really hurt the Grand Dutchy. David was forced to withdraw his forces from the Permian Oil Basin and declare them independent of the Grand Dutchy of Brockmann December 14th 2003.
At the time of this crisus in the oil rich region of the Permian Oil Basin, David and Leslie had two children Anthony II (February 1st 2003) and Miranda I (December 11th 2003). Many people congradulated the Duke on this, but he wasn't interested he was completely stressed over the crisus, as he feared that this would prove to be a weak point as other contry's might try to take chunks of Brockmann away from the Grand Dutchy. He was able to relieve this stress as his wife Leslie and the children with David went on vacation for the next two months in the Austrian Apls. This removed the sadness that the crisus had caused the proud man that was the Duke of Brockmann, David IV.
