The Participatory Democracy of Dutch Berhampore is a peaceful, Southern Ocean island nation located in the Democratic Underground
Dutch Berhampore comprises the former neighbouring island colonies of both the Netherlands and India. The two islands, which shared a common culture, language and history jointly gained independence from each their respective colonial powers and unified under a single independent government following plebiscite on 19 September 1975.
The state is now underpinned by four unwritten constitutional principals:
- Pacifism – Dutch Berhampore has now armed forces and firearms of all sorts are banned.
- Participatory Democracy – The political system is one of parliamentary democracy arising from nationwide triennial elections. The political system is based on political parties and is proportionally representative. Nobody is excluded from suffrage, including children, prisoners, refugees or citizens currently residing overseas.
- Democratic Socialism - The majority of Dutch Berhampore political decisions are based on giving its citizens equality of opportunity through a comprehensive education, health and social welfare system.
