Education in Casari

The Educational System in Casari consists of a multi-tier system designed to give students the optimal training required for their choice of career. Students are entitled to a maximum of 15 years of state-funded education, starting at the age of 6 up to the age of 21. For the past 60 years, in an effort to standardize education practices across the nation, the concept of Educational Standards was enacted.

O-Level

O-Level education consists of any pre-school programs either funded by the state or privately. While they have no standard enacted, many forms attempt to give children a head start at the next level.

P-Level

Primary, or P-level, education in Casari lasts from Grade 1 through Grade 7.
In the first three grades, the class is taught mostly by a single teacher in order to complete standard P1 (ED-P1) at the end of Grade 3. Unlike most of the other standards, ED-P1 does not have a standardized testing requirement, and only stresses introductory subjects. Introductory use in computers is also encouraged during this period through the use of educational programs and small writing and drawing assignments.

    • Music I - Intended to provide an introduction to the different kinds and understanding of very basic musical concepts, taught by a specialty music teacher.
    • Essential I - Essential I includes basic things students are encouraged to know to participate in society and is usually the first standard completed. Includes simple items such as reading digital and analog timekeeping devices, being able to tie one's own shoes, and basic hygiene.
    • Physical Education I - Organized and Unorganized Physical Activity is heavily encouraged during this period, with the organized physical activity lead by a specialty gym teacher.

Students are primarily taught by the same teacher in the 4th and 5th grades, although specialty teachers for the teaching of Foriegn Languages, Music, and Computer Use are introduced.

In Grades 6 and 7, students begin to meet with specialty teachers particular to their content area. Starting at this point, the Reading standard is eliminated in favor of a more specific Literature standard which a focus that includes particular types and styles of writing instead of basic comprehension. Mathematics 2 takes students up to a Pre-Algebra level, while the Music requirement broadens to allow both class involvement or individual learning of a musical instrument for participation in a school band or orchestra. Science is usuaally seperated into several groups, such as Life, Earth, and Physical sciences.

Upper Levels

The Upper Levels of the Casaran Educational system are differentiated into three seperate tracks.

A-Level

The A-Level track is a short, 3 year educational course which is followed by an apprentaceship. A-Level Students must complete 2 standard levels, one by Grade 9 and a second by Grade 10. Standards at this level are completed through a standardized exam.

The Final Year of A-Level schooling is open for the student to pick his own chosen classes with only a few remaining standards. If he so desires, he can cross over to a B-Level curriculum

B-Level

The B-Level track is a 5 year course intended for students leaving school to leave school for a vocational/technical school or a 2 year college. The B-Level has 2 standard levels, one intended to get students to take care of many of their necessary classes first and one at the end of Grade 12.

Students are encouraged in their extra time that they take part in classes in the topic area which interests them the most. After the EB-12 Level Students are given the oppertunity to transfer over to a C-Level curriculum for 2 years if they so desire.

C-Level

The C-Level is a 7 year course intended to prepare students for a College or University setting. It begins similarly to the B-Level track, but goes into greater depth in the final two years.

The C11 Standard consists of the same things as the B12, compressed into a shorter time-frame in order to make room for the more advanced classes which come later.

The final and most advanced standard in the Casaran Educational System is the C14 Standard. Incorporated into this standard is College Admissions Testing, which is administered through the public schools.

Graduation

When the student graduates, either when they complete the final necessary Standard on their Track when they will be allowed to take part in a graduation ceremony, or when they complete the 15 allowed years or make a decision to leave the school system, they will be awarded a diploma for the final standard that they have accomplished. Higher Standards are available for graduates through many colleges and adult education centers, while former students who did not graduate are required to take equivelancy classes to earn an ED-AE, BE, or CE degree before enrolling in further educational persuits.

School Activities

Schools actively encourage students to take place in an extremely wide variety of school competitions and clubs in order to grow social skills and abilities. Inter-school competition is very common in a wide number of sports, including Soccer, American Football, Hockey, Baksetball, Baseball, Cricket, Athletics, and Swimming, along with other activities such as Debate and Speech.
