The Edward City 2025 Zombie Outbreak was a huge outbreak of Zombies in late January and early February 2025 in The United Region of Friends originating from Edward City D.C..
Beginning
The outbreak began on January 31st, 2025 (2 days after a powerful earthquake destroyed most of Edward City D.C.'s infrastructure), when some zombies appeared near of the city centre (near an underground biological laboratory that was originally believed to be guilty of this outbreak but was later revealed that it wasn't) and began biting some people. Several hours after the outbreak, half of the city's population had become zombies.
Officials acted quickly setting up a quarantine field around the city. Neighbouring nations, such as Work Damn you Work, also acted quickly setting up a quarantine of Edward City as well as all refugees from the earthquake and delivering all aid via airdrop. Other Nations, such as My Political Arm, reacted even further, closing their borders to all traffic.
ECDC Escape
On February 1 the Zombies broke though the quarantine zone. A group of marines stole an ultimate generation military submarine and headed toward Work Damn you Work. WDYW's response was to send its new Goose Z11 attack shuttle, which had only had its first test flight that same morning against the sub. It also prepared its fleet of bombers to begin air strikes on infected zones. The Goose managed to cripple the sub, but barley survived the encounter. Meanwhile, the Zombies had hijacked a cruise ship and navy cruiser which were 2 to 3 hours away from the WDYW coast line, and were heading towards Tradelands. Edward City requested that the cruise ship not be fired upon. WDYW delayed an attack until both vessels were an immediate threat to any towns on the surface.
Immediately WDYW evacuated Tradelands and removed all sourced of transport it could on such short notice. A perimeter line was set up stretching from Edward City to My Political Arm, in case the Zombies decided not to go to Tradelands.
Edward City forces managed to reach the lab containing the supposed source of the outbreak and found all samples of t-virus intact.
MPA launched Nuclear subs and aircraft to patrol WDYW and MPA waters.
Final Battle and Atomic Detonation
On February 2 the WDYW coast guard opened fire against the cruise ship and navy cruiser. It managed to successfully sink the cruise ship and save 20 surviving non-zombies. The cruiser was heavily damgaged to destory one coast guard vessel before beaching itself near Tradelands. During the insuing land battle 5 Moose Men died. During both the naval and land battle 20 zombies died. The remaing zombied barricaded themselves in Tradelands. The perimeter was moved to surround Tradelands, and the coast guard set up a full blockade of the city.
On hour later WDYW troops moved into Tradelands and began an exhaustive building by building search for Zombies with minimal resistance. Four minutes later Edward City launched a nuclear strike eliminating the threat and destorying Fuchu Daiichi and Seyda. Edward City also imediately created the GCIZI (Governmental Committee for Investigation on the Zombie Incident). WDYW managed to retake Tradelands without further losses and captured five live Zombies. It imediatley formed the WDYW Centre for Anti Biological Weapons Research where it keeps the live zombies for experimentation, and imediatly began autopsies of all recovered Zombie corpses.
