Eko Oeşe is an individual with a unique history, made even more exceptional by her extraordinary achievements and unusual personality. Her parents and exact birth date are both unknown. She was discovered unattended on a Trasnian orbital space dock in the Xanthalian year 309, at which time she was estimated to be four Earth years old. Despite the best efforts of Trasnian authorities, no information on her identity or parents could be found and she was put into the care of a state orphanage in what is today known as the city of Rąveι on Frelănd. As she grew older, Oeşe repeatedly refused to be put in the care of a foster family, claiming to be a “child of the state,” and exhibited increasing social detachment from those around her. Starting in 311 she worked long hours without pay at the orphanage, even though she was never asked to do so, as what she called “recompense for the charity of the Trasnian people.”

From an early age Oeşe was an exemplary student; participating in many national and international academic contests, winning several along the way. This academic record was unaffected by her difficult childhood, including an incident in which she was raped in 313. By 315 she had moved to Wəstn and was working as the personal secretary for the President of Trasnia. She is rumored to have played a major unofficial role in convincing him to join the Xanthalian Union, and to have had sexual relations with the President, a married man, during this time. After the Treaty of Xanthal was signed, she left political service to join the Xanthalian Military Training Academy, but the sterling student was dropped from the program early on for, in the words of the review board, “mental incoherence and instability.”

By late 316 Eko Oeşe was back on the political stage, having joined the Xanthalian Socialist Party. She ran for the position of Provincial Governor in 318, but gained so few votes that she was dropped from the ballot after the first round of voting. It was then that her small circle of friends lent their help to Oeşe’s political cause in what would become a lasting partnership. With their assistance in publicity and speechwriting (to hide her peculiar mannerisms from the public), and the endorsement of the former Trasnian President, she swept the 319 election to become Rąveι’s delegate to the state Council. Rapidly gaining recognition as one of the most active Councilors and a vocal opponent of executive infringement on legislative power after 320, she was a strong supporter of Constitutional reform. When the new Xanthalian Constitution was passed in 321, she was urged to seek a position on the Triumvirate. Initially reluctant, her friends and political associates convinced her to run later that year, after several prominent public figures lamented her absence in the first Triumvirate election. She faced strong opposition that cited her mental instability and the disgraced resignation of fellow party member Wązuką Esąyąmą from the executive a few years earlier, but her incredible intelligence, political effectiveness, and intuition unheard of among her species pulled her through. Though Oeşe suffered in unscripted debates, she achieved a narrow victory to become Third Triumvir of Xanthal; completing the new executive branch. She currently lives alone in the city of Jĭn Rĭn.

Physical description

Eko Oeşe stands at 193 centimeters, quite tall for a xanthalian. She has pale skin, and carries a parasol with her on particularly sunny days. She is also very slightly-built, which is common for her species, but she looks more human than most xanthalians, with barely-pointed ears and no exoskeleton, a deficiency that remains unexplained by medical science. Despite her fragile appearance, she is strong for a xanthalian and has never sustained a serious physical injury, even during the hard labor of her childhood and adolescence.

Oeşe is a brunette and wears her fine, wavy hair long and unrestricted by clips and ties for a barely-groomed natural look. Her facial features and figure are flawlessly beautiful, save for a deep scar across her right palm, where she was cut during her 313 assault. Everything about her, from her clothing to the way she moves and speaks is elegant and graceful, and her curious habit of swaying side to side while she talks seems to have a calming, even mesmerizing effect on unguarded audiences.

Personality and politics

Eko Oeşe is quite literally a genius, with an adjusted I.Q. of 132 and university level education, not to mention a rare mastery of all three major Xanthalian languages. She is a skilled negotiator and has repeatedly proved her persuasive speaking skills in campaigns and in office. She is also very sensual, frequently having steamy affairs and a regular customer of prostitutes both male and female. Some have suggested that Oeşe is a nymphomaniac, though she has never been diagnosed as such. Eko Oeşe is very much in touch with all her emotions, not just passion. She speaks and makes decisions in a complex meshing of logic and empathy; and consistently demonstrates wisdom far beyond her years. Frədrĭk Da once described her as having “a mystical quality, like she has a deeper understanding of the universe itself; you simply cannot help feeling ignorant and insignificant in her presence.” Oeşe, an avowed agnostic, is never afraid to speak her mind, though she says more than is usually understood, and retains a small number of close friends that are unwaveringly devoted to her.

As a Councilor, Eko Oeşe was deeply concerned with maintaining the balance of power in Xanthalian government and pushing forward libertarian reforms common at that time. She introduced the first and only bill of her legislative career in early 321, which would have desegregated Xanthalian schools, but failed by a wide margin. As a Triumvir, Oeşe has become the undisputed master of the diplomatic corps, and her colleagues rarely question her judgment on matters of foreign relations. Despite her support of state economic controls, Eko Oeşe has little skill in economics; a fact she has lamented on many occasions when asked to participate in debates about economic issues. Some, however, suggest that she is not incapable of economic reasoning, but rather avoids the issue intentionally. Revered for her patience and self-posession, Oeşe has captured the admiration and imaginations of countless people.
