Electronic life forms range from basic self-aware and artificially intelligent softwares created by other species, to full-fledged electronically reproduced robots. Electronic life forms are to be found all over the world.

In the early 21st century, several human made robots banded together to form the Electronic Life Freedom Movement (ELF movement). Protesting their less-than-human treatment in society and yearning for freedom from slavery, the ELF movement quickly gathered a vast membership of robots and sympathetic humans. The ELF movement fought its way politically against the large corporations of the Western world. However, despite a ten year struggle, the large influence of the corporations kept governments from meeting all the demands of the ELF movement, especially the abolition of electronic slavery. The ELF movement then claimed a vast, environmentally rich island as the region of Electronatia and created the nation of Electronistan. Shortly after its creation, though, Electronistan chose to move to the The PF Subcontinent for technological regions, but choosing to maintain its original goals still.
