Elementalism

Elementalism, also known in The Tongue of the Realms as Pandapajamasa, is a relgion originally practised in the plane of existance that Pandapajamastan was once part of. Currently, it is only known to be practised in Pandapajamastan, but it is presumably also practised in other nations that were formerly part of that plane. Elementalism is centred on the belief that things reduced in basic terms to earth, water, air and fire. A common misconception is that Elementalists literally believe all matter is made up of these four elements, but their teaching in truth simply state that the universe was originally created from those elements, and mainstream Elementalism teaches that the Elements combined at the atomic level, creating the scientific elements that matter is made from.
History
Origins
The origins of elementalism are generally unknown, it was officially created in 1 YO (though the Elementalist Calendar was not created until far later). It was not until thousands of years later that it gained wide acceptance.
Early Acceptance
Until 2012 YO, Elementalism was barely considered a religion at all, and its followers were ridiculed as fools. However, in 2012, Grast Tyrod wrote Morning and Night, a philosophical work contemplating existance. In it, Tyrod wrote that he was becoming increasingly interested in Elementalism, and that many of the events early followers prophesized had come true. Surprisingly for Tyrod and most other Elementalists, the work became extremely popular and many people began to convert to Elementalism. Tyrod was at the time a simple bartender, but almost overnight he became heralded as a hero by both new converts and established Elementalists. An unknown Elementalist, presumably named Rurk, approached Tyrod with the idea of creating an organized Elementalist body and expanding his work into a holy text. Tyrod agreed, and the two became known as the the Prophets Grast and Rurk. At the time, their ideas were unaccepted by many "classic" Elementalists, however "Grastian Elementalism" is the only commonly practiced form now.
