Evility
In the summer of 2003 The Holy Empire of Emperor Matthuis came into being in The North Pacific in the reign of Nastic. It was swiftly recruited to Evility, which at its peak contained 140 nations and one of the largest of its time. He later rose to UN Delegate before falling out with the Founder. He also set up The Welsh Highlands, which he founded/delegated. At the request of Playa Chk he became Mercia the Next Generation's Delegate. Later he re-founded the Empire of Power before losing interest and letting it die. Other regions that he founded/delegated include Evilium, Rejected Realms, That Place Over There, Gay (although actually straight), ZZ9 Plural Alpha and Oxford (as an invader Delegate) and Wales. Emperor Matthuis has also founded and sometime delegated the region of Egypt, which he now co-controls.
The East Pacific
Later Emperor Matthuis left for The East Pacific, where he endotarted up to 120 endorsments. He later joined their forum and became UN Liaison, Magister and Ambassador. Later on he joined The Lexicon as Durnia, however due to The East Pacific's support of The North Pacific in The Lexicon-The North Pacific War, Emperor Matthuis was forced to leave The East Pacific for The Lexicon in the summer of 2006. Within months however Emperor Matthuis released that he yearned for The East and resigned as Senator of The Lexicon and rejoined The East Pacific.
The North Pacific
Around the same time he joined The North Pacific and Lazarus. Emperor Matthuis was elected as Vice Delegate of The North Pacific, deputy to Great Bights Mum in the elections in Novemember 2006. At the same time in Lazarus he was elected as Advocate for Foreign Enticement. As Vice Delegate he maintained an extremely high level of endorsements, around 350. He also set about transforming Lazarus' foreign department, finding ambassadors for all Consulates and Embassies and producing regular news reports and updates. He also joined Taijitu, formed from The Lexicon and became a Senator there soon after its creation. Emperor Matthuis is also an honorary Crusader for Pacific Orthodoxy for The Pacific.
Delegacy Crisis
However on Saturday, February 10 2007, Emperor Matthuis accidentally became Delegate of The North Pacific due to Great Bights Mum's endorsement count falling and him maintaining an unusually high level of endorsements, although he was running for Delegate at the time. This caused alarm in The North Pacific and the West Pacific Liberation Force rushed in and endorsed Great Bights Mum, pushing her up to 285 endorsements. However, Emperor Matthuis offered no resistance, changed the factbook entry for The North Pacific and allowed Great Bights Mum to return to the Delegacy on February 12.
Emperor Matthuis had run in The North Pacific Delegate election against Chodean Kal (Dalimbar), Emperor Matthuis won the first round of voting amidst confusion about the eligibility of the voters. However he did not secure the required votes to win so a run-off was called, deciding that he did not want to hold up the election any further, especially considering that he was likely to lose the run-off election, Matthuis conceded the election to Dalimbar and a few days later resigned for the United Nations, losing his high endorsement count.
The Pacific
Emperor Matthuis went to The Pacific and applied for Citizenship there through a UN puppet, Emperor Matthius III. As Durnia, he was also appointed Supreme Court Justice of Taijitu.
Issues
On the 31st March 2007, Emperor Matthuis got his second issue accepted by the NationStates admin, this followed days later with two more issues. Emperor Matthuis has currently authored issues #122, #204, #208 and #210.
