Maximillian IV was born in Ursanton in approximately 1809 AD as the second son of the Emperor of the time, Emperor Alexander II. His older brother was killed fighting the aboriginals, and he inherited the throne upon his 20th birthday. He promptly killed the (former) regent who had been ruling and promptly took control of the Parliament and Prime Minister by installing a crony of his. To prevent 'variables' he eliminated democracy and began to appoint members of parliament himself. He also brought new vigor into the war against the aboriginals, sending regiment after regiment of light infantry and heavy infantry, more than halving the estimated native population and doubling the casualties of the last century of irregular warfare against the Aboriginals. He is mostly remembered by Hrydonians as the emperor who did the most damage against the Aboriginals of anyone before the machine gun debuted. The five years before his death led to an odd obsession with the natives and the state of his food; despite his paranoia, he died of old age. Historians and some academics have thought that he may have had Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.
