Emperors of Kzuu Mai

The God-Emperors of Kzuu Mai ruled the nation which would become Kzuu Mai (at the time called Nir Kra) for thousands of years. The first God-Emperor unified the small, squabbling tribes under his own rule approximately four thousand years before the Kzuu Maian Revolution by destroying all those tribes who would not join him. Since then, the rule of the God-Emperors has been divided into six clear dynasties.

The First Wars

The wars which eventually unified all tribes of Kzuu Mai under a single ruler were known as the First Wars. These were incredibly bloody; the leader of the winning tribe, soon to become God-Emperor Nir I, is believed to have been responsible for the wiping out of 80% of Kzuu Mai's old tribes. The wars lasted a decade.

The Nir Dynasty

The first Emperor of Kzuu Mai has gone down in history as Emperor Nir I, although his true name is unknown. He is remembered as the second greatest ruler (after Kalaya Sun) Kzuu Mai ever had; he ruled over a peaceful and prosperous nation, and under his rule many new technologies and ideas - the most significant being agriculture - were developed. Nir I is also remembered as the longest ruling Emperor of Kzuu Mai; he reigned for almost twenty-five years before being poisoned. It is believed that his nephew - soon to become the second Emperor of the Nir Dynasty - was responsible, but this has not been proved.

After Nir I's murder, the Nir Dynasty was relatively insignificant; it is perhaps best remembered as the only dynasty not to oppress the population, preferring instead to feed them well and generally keep the people happy.

The Ko Dynasty

It is believed that God-Emperor Ko I himself beheaded Emperor Nir VII; in ancient Kzuu Mai it was considered a terrible curse to remove the head of someone of higher class, ruling out the possibility of a hired assassin. Ko I was the first true God-Emperor; it was he who adopted the title, and wove himself into the complex web of Kzuu Maian Gods to prove he was divine. This, he reasoned, would explain the state of perpetual starvation and misery he kept the people in. This way of controlling the Empire was adopted by every other God-Emperor of Kzuu Mai.

During the rule of the war-like Ko Dynasty, the Empire almost doubled in size, and it geographically became roughly the same size as Kzuu Mai today.

The Ide Dynasty

The Ide dynasty began after the cataclysmic Battle of Sunayala, where God-Emperor Ko XVII was killed by an arrow through the throat. All of his heirs - not to mention several thousand people - were also killed during the battle, and, after a brief period of squabbling among the victors, Lord Ide VI became God-Emperor Ide I.

The Ide dynasty is often forgotten; despite it being the second longest dynasty in the history of Kzuu Mai, virtually nothing was achieved throughout its entire six hundred years of existence.
