The Restructuring

It was then that the inexplicable happened. The Empryian Imperium disappeared from the galactic political sphere. Their alliance toward the Covenant evaporated and no trace of them was left. The Covenant's requests recieved no answers to their questions, only a dread silence that permeated the interstellar comm chatter.

The Imperium had turned its eyes inward to the biggest play for power in nearly 3 millenia of existence as an Imperium. Rebellions broke out among dozens of planets, all for the Emperor's cousin Ferizon. History played out for 25 years as the Imperium tore itself apart in a galactic reinactment of the original Civil War between Destartes Liomas and his own cousin Vanz nearly 6,000 years ago when the Empryian people were just limited to a single planet.

The power play by Ferizon against Veneratis whipped whole planets out of existence. The Kelhandar, all loyal this time around, fought a desperate war against the legions supporting Ferizon. It had made no sense that a formerly loyal and treasured member of the Imperial family would be fighting against a well-liked and popular Emperor. It all became clear on the planet Hildar, the first planet to be recaptured by Loyalist forces.

Taint.

With the taint of the Old Gods permeating his ranks, Ferizon had resurrected the fury of the old gods and waged a religious war against the 'infidels' of the Emperor. Weapons the Empryian people hadn't seen since the war against the Yerwvm, weapons of mass destruction that made nuclear weapons look like child's play, were brought out against the use against the 'Unfaithful'.

Planet-Killers, Extinguishers, and even a dreaded Fotress of Menagar were all used by the forces of Ferizon. Planet-Killers eliminated the low atmospheres of planets by bombardment of missiles seeded into the atmosphere's by low-orbit delivery. Extinguishers litteraly extinguished stars by increasing the rate of consumption of its materials, and by removing other materials not being consumed from the star by a limited time black hole (that consumed itself into a supernova effect). Fortresses of Menagar, through powerful gravitonic displacement fields, destroyed the gravity wells of solar systems, tearing them apart in a gigantic show of force. Entire Star-Systems were cowed into submission by the False-Claimant Ferizon by just the threat of such weapons.

The Empyrean Heights

With the defeat of the False-Claimant Ferizon, and the ascension of the Emperor Veneratis Liomas to God-Emperor, the Empryian people rejoiced, even if it was hollow. Billions of people had died, and a quarter of the star systems of the former Imperium were just gone or completely worthless for recolonization.

The History of Empryia

The History of Empryia is a long one. Starting on the first pennisula of an island off a main continent, the Constitutional Monarchy of Empryia quickly spread to cover the rest of the island and a few parts on the mainland.

The real history of the Constitutional Monarchy started with the abhorent behavior of the former Emperor. Destartes, cousin to the late Emperor Vanz, began and popular uprising against his cousin. War broke out quickly all throughout the Empire as it was called back then. The Kelhandar, the Elite Praetorian Guard of the Emperor was split. Three out of Eight Legions of the Kelhandar broke sides with Vanz and went to join to Destartes. The IV Legion: The Black Knights, The III Legion: The Screaming Falcons, and I Legion: the Samurai, the three most prestigious Legions, all joined Destartes' cause to uproot his cousin.

The military itself was completely split. War broke out fiercely throughout the Empire. Family's split over the choice between Vanz and Destartes. Brothers fought Fathers and Cousin fought Cousin in this epic struggle. No one was left untouched.

After seven years of warfare, Destartes closed on the gates of Eletan city. The Elysium Mountain Range with it's White Pearly Gates fell to Destartes' forces. The Black Knights, formerly 10,000 strong were wittled down to 1,500 after the long and gory battles of the Elysium Mountain Ranges. Within 200 miles of the outskrits of the Capital City, Emperor Vanz, even with the II Legion and IX Legion of Kelhandar with him, commited suicide in a fiery nuclear explosion, taking with him millions of lives. Nuclear ICBMs struck 10 out of 15 of Empryia's major cities, whiping out huge population centers. Destartes', who's Screaming Falcons captured the SDI system only fifteen minutes after the last ICBM had been launched, could do nothing but watch in horror as millions of Empryia's citizens died.

Now, the Constitutional Monarchy of Empryia is slowly rebuilding. The IV, III, and I Legions of the Kelhandar now protect the gates of Desconde, the new capital city.
