Engilla

Engilla is a Kiravian colony on a suptropical island chain.

History

The date of Engilla's discovery is unknown, however, it is documented that there were Kiravian settlements on the islands in the Cosciv year 2040. Once Engilla was incorporated as a colony of Kirav, the economy was tranferred from Subsistence Fishing, and diversified to include Fruit Farming, Glass Manufacturing, Salt Distillation, and Handicrafts. Under the Empire, the economy, population, and living standards of the nation rose from their pre-colonial state.

70 years later, new social and political movements arose in Engilla. The first, in the North, called for plantations, foreign labour, and dropping of Engilla's trade tariffs. THe second, in the south, called for independence from the Empire. Through diplomatic talks, pressured by riots in South Engilla, the Empire allowed SOuth Engilla it's independance. It was stripped of colonial status, and turned into the Protectorate of South New Engillaland, decolonized, and then left to its own devices. DUring its 3 years of independence, South Engilla forcibly "liberated" unsuspecting colonies of Kirav, Mance, and Allergemra. Kirav struck back, swiftly recapturing its old colony.
