The Erdingley by-election of 2007 took place on May 31, 2007 in the Cachette de Lions Parliamentary constituency of Erdingley following the death of the sitting Conservative MP, Roger Clayton, on May 2, and produced a victory for the Liberal Party against the incumbent Conservatives. The constituency under Clayton was a marginal with all three major parties close together, however Clayton had held it since 1987, even when the national swing suggested it would go to the Liberals in 1999.
