The F-1 Masada is a Kahanistanian air superiority fighter designed specifically to tackle CAD and AMF forces in the air, where they performed below expectations against the Pwnage Air Force.

Design

The F-1 Masada air superiority fighter is the Republic Guard's answer to overwhelming power in the air. Its substantial missile capacity enables it to perform SEAD and DEAD as well as successfully engage enemy forces, and its VTOL capacity allows it to react to attacks which would trap CTOL fighters on the ground, helplessly awaiting destruction.

Armaments

The F-1 carries a Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-30-1 autocannon and 1,000 tungsten rounds. However, the majority of its offensive power is derived from its missile loadout, much of which is contained in what was originally intended to be a bomb bay. While capable of carrying 20 missiles of various types, it is unusual for the Masada to carry more than 10 on a conventional mission, as more compromises the stealth and maneuverability of the warplane.

A typical layout for a strike mission consists of two ALARM's, four Tomahawks, two Meteors, and two Sicarius missiles, a Kahanistanian indigenous cruise missile smaller than the Tomahawk but with much longer range and accuracy, generally used for strike missions in populated areas.

Propulsion

The Masada uses a Rolls-Royce lift system, the same as used on the JSF. However, instead of the single turbofan used in the JSF, it uses two Lyulka AL-41F afterburning turbofans.

The choice of engine allows the F-1 the superior speed of the Mikoyan Project 1.44, as opposed to the JSF's Mach 1.6. The fuel tanks are coated with flame-retardant foam, as is the entire cockpit to prevent immediate destruction in the event of a round penetrating the fuel tank, thereby allowing the pilot to eject.

Electronics

The electronics of the F-1 are little removed from the electronics of the F-35 it replaces, combining the integrated off-board and on-board sensor fusion of the JSF with the B-2's APQ-181 radar, which enables it to correct GPS errors sometimes made during navigation or while firing missiles.
