The Federation of Independent Regions Standing Together (FIRST) is a coalition of small regions who have agreed to defend each other in the event they are invaded, but otherwise respect each other's sovereignty and uniqueness. Membership is limited to regions of 20 nations or less. Current members may expand to a maximum of 25 nations before they will be asked to leave.

FIRST is currently in a state of upheaval due to an attempt by Genesis to expell all other members for alleged inactivity. It is questionable whether Genesis has any authority to do so, and in fact, did so without contacting many of the member regions. After an abortive attempt by Genesis to take over and "revive" another member region, Emerald Isles, the future of the alliance remains uncertain.
