The Fennoscandian Split

This term refers to a important moment in the history of Scandinavia. On the 4th of June 2006 a large group of mostly democratic nations departed Scandinavia to a newly formed region called Fennoscandia.

The Nations that left

The Majority of the nations that left to form Fennoscandia were Democratic & UN members. Long time members of Scandinavia & previous UN delegates such as Frestonia were amongst them. The active UN delegate at that time, Kapellen however, stayed in Scandinavia. Two specific non-democratic nations Quislington and Q World Dominion also left Scandinavia for Fennoscandia. Q World Dominion was shortly ejected from, but allowed to return to Fennoscandia, Quislington was ejected and not allowed re-admittance; Quislington returned to Scandinavia.

Reasons for leaving

Some nations felt the I.S.S.P. was restricting their personal freedoms. Should any nation step out of line the I.S.S.P. was there with massive military force to put a nation back in it's place.

The lack of democratic nations in the region was the main reason that many nations left. They felt their democratic ideals were suppressed by the founder's lack of Democratic practice.

Another reason was the arrival of a group of Fascist Belligerent nations,of which the most active nation was Odhinnia, who were allowed to announce and distribute their beliefs without any intervention from Muspellheim.
