Final Conflict

Persiben, ruler of the fourth dynasty, cast aside his oaths of loyalty and offered his fealty of the False-Gods, the Pah-Wraiths. Driving the people to turn upon one another as he laughed contently. In what should have been their finest hour Askiran society was ripped apart and men that stood shoulder to shoulder to carve peace, butchered one another in a civil war that set their world afire. Cities burned in the name of the Pah-Wraiths and a terror unlike any seen before was unleashed, the Kosst Amojan, the ‘Bloodthirster’. The traitorous forces of the Pah-Wraith drove all before them until some warriors still loyal to the old republic ways stood at bay within the walls of the Papal Palace. Blind hate and malice met courage and steel on the blood-slick ramparts of the old republic’s last bastion. The forces of darkness pressed in around the guttering flame of hope, but desperate times called for desperate measures and the Kai set forth unto the battlefield and with his most trusted Guards took the fight to Persiben the Kosst Amojan. An enormous battle was fought which resulted in the death of all but Sojef, most deadly of the Protectorate Guard, and Kai Tain. The scriptures tell of the Final Conflict, fought between the forces of good and evil, atop the East Gate of Theed. They tell of the fall of Sojef, Master Samurai, and the casting down of Kai Tain, broken and wounded almost unto death. But at the moment of last hope, the Prophets infused him with unimaginable power and he struck the beast down with his last ounce of strength, destroying the Pah-Wraith utterly and breaking the power of his forces.
