After a long winter of silence in 54 B.C., the Romans - under Julius Caeser - renewed their advance into Rexxaraeite territory. The city of Aymes was a small, well-fortified stronghold on the central-Rexxarean mountain-range.

While keeping the bulk of his forces headed straight east, Caeser sent two legions north and south to ensure no outflanking would be done on part of the Rexxaraeites.

One such legion stumbled upon the city, and laid siege to it. The Romans allied themselves with some smaller camps of various tribal groups within Rexxarae, and city-states, too. The leader of the legion sent a force of such Rexxaraeite traitors to attack the city.

The people of Aymes fought bravely, but to no avail. They were simply inexpirienced, ill-equipped, and unskilled fighters. The Romans eventually marched on the city to cleanse it of any remnant of defence, killing the leader of the defenders in the way.
