Flag of Tika Vanu
The national flag of Tika Vanu consists in three horizontal stripes (white, black and yellow), with the flag of the Holy See in the top left-hand corner. Black symbolises the people, while white and yellow are the colours of the Holy See, and signify the devotion of the ni-Tika Vanu people to the Roman Catholic Church. Yellow and white symbolically enfold and contain the black of the people, protecting and uniting them.
The flag is protected from vandalism by the country's religious laws. Desecrating it is considered blasphemy, and punishable by a fine and up to five days in jail.
