Floating Mines

The Floating Mines developed by the Leninist Dynasty are hovering mines that can render large areas of airspace impassable. Floating Mines can be adjusted to hover at a certain height and if colliding with enemy aircraft, they will detonate with the power of an ordinary terrestial mine most aircraft armor is not able to withstand. Perhaps the Leninist Dynasty has also done research on maneuverable and autonomous Floating Mines, maybe equipped with weapons instead of a simple explosive charge, thus turning them into a sort of aerial defense drone. Originally, Floating Mines were a desperate measure to make up for Leninist Dynasty's utter lack of air power (having only one type of active aircraft, the Neo-MiG) compared to the United Continents Of America, their main adversary.

OOCly, the Floating Mine is actually a combination of two RL wikipedia:Imperial Japanese weapons, the wikipedia:Aerial Mine Discharger and the wikipedia:Fire balloon. However, when I invented the Floating Mine (in the retcon it is described here, originally, these had been devices hovering by unknown means, similar to air defense probes or drones), I was totally unaware that these two weapons actually existed.
