Background

The Terran Democracy of Foe Hammer started out as a small nation of five million emigrants from many different nations, wishing to form a government aiming for the success of both the people and the corporations. This proved horridly ineffective, as corporations' desires to succeed by any means necessary conflicted with the safety and freedom of the people. Many forms of government would be adopted by what some called a "bureaucratic guinea pig."

After a socialist revolution, many aspects of the Hammerian economy were controlled by the governing body (examples of this are the Foe Hammer Armament/Foe Hammer Weapons corporation, an international weapons dealer with their headquarters and manufacturers in Foe Hammer). While resulting in lower taxes (due to the profits of such corporations being siphoned into the national budget), this caused many other businesses in such categories to fear the creation of a government-operated monopoly. After many military conflicts, allowed to occur due to the relatively lax requirements of declaring war, Foe Hammer's socialist government soon found itself teetering on the edge of extinction, a multinational committee in it's place. While the socialist movement still existed, it's ousting paved the way for other more effective and friendly forms of government.

In 133AC, the committee was retired. To this day, the Hammerian government refuses to comment on methods used to rid Foe Hammer of the committee. In 139AC, after 6 years of rule under the belt of a temporary government, Foe Hammer's citizens voted 77%-20%-3% to form a loose cross between Democracy and an Empire. While the civil rights and political freedoms of this nation state began to rise, so did the economy with the business- and individual-friendly documents and laws. 273 years after the formation of this odd form of government, Foe Hammer's form of government was converted to a pseudo-imperial body, maintaining the civil rights and political freedoms of the citizens, while introducing three new positions:

• Emperor/Empress
• City-state Representative
• Hammerian Guard

The Hammerian Empire remains the most popular form of government among the Hammerian citizens, thanks to a frighteningly powerful economy, outstanding civil rights and average political freedoms. Many Hammerian citizens are positive that the Hammerian Empire is the best available option, and thus, it has become the longest-reigning government in Hammerian history.

Recent Events

The Terran Democracy of Foe Hammer has degraded into a state of both civil and all-out war. Prior to the reformation of the national government to a traditional democracy, the Hammerians began a massive militarization campaign to aid the war against a new breed of beasts known as Victim. "Victim" (sic) come in many morphologies, and because of this, Hammerian space forces have suffered "tragic and fatal losses".

Hammerian space fleets have reduced in number since the beginning of the Victim War, dropping sharply from 600+ to eight. In addition, the cities of Foe Hammer have been ravaged by crime, although the economy remains at its strongest point in over 600 years.
