Fort Rith had long served as a border patrol fort on the outskirts of Gyzen. When secession occured in its neighboring states, however, the United Empire immediately cycled soldiers to the fort. At the time, however, Fort Rith had been under going long overdue upgrades and repairs, expansions to the barracks to help house additional soldiers. Major Thaos Falc simply hadn't the preparations to be ready of a sneak attack, as no one truthfully believed the Confederates would be so bold. When the attack came, however, his defenses fell apart under the lightning raid conducted by the CSNC. The assault came fast and heavy, with soldiers pouring in from all sides of the fort and attack helicopters and fighter jets making pass-by attacks. At the end, Major Falc had no choice but to surrender the fort. The Confederates lowered the Bent N flag of Colerica and replaced it with the Colerican Cross, signifying both their victory and their defiance to the United Empire.
