Freedonia National News (FNN) - News broadcast company, owned by the government and created on 1958. It is located on Baden, Menaria. With a force of 1,400 journalists, it is one of the most important media corporation of the nation.

First Time

One of the first transmissions of FNN
The idea of a national broadcast was seen by the government as a possibility to promote an stronger educational plan for the citizens. With the National News act the parliament decide to create this public company, and give the funds necessaries to make a complete signal cover of the nation.

The First Channel (FNN1) was inaugurated on 1958 with the news, about the votation on the province of Verrici. Not only a news channel, it contained also talk shows, educational programs (expecially about science) and quizzes.

The Expansion

The quality of FNN continued to growth, and its journalists became an international press-awarded professionists. The profits, given by the introduction of advertisements (1965), permitted the creation of the Second Channel (FNN2).

The possibility to use 2 channels was the reason why the director Dean K. Lonje decided on 1971 to divide the matters of the channels: FNN1 became a 24h news channels, and it still continued to be FNN; FNN2 was transformed in a more commercial network, and it contained the quizzes and other variety programs. It was renamed Freedonia Variety Channel (FVC).

FNN on satellite

After the launch of the commercial satellite FreeSAT 1, it is now on the international scene, offering recent news to about 350 millions of users.
