Early Beginnings

Starting out a mere 5 years ago, a small population of 5 million people wanted independance from their nomadic lifestyle, so they struck out to form the Empire of Gray Army, after many Civil Wars, it seemed as if Gray would collapse until, the empire's potential and current enemies stepped down in a commen sense of unity.

= Period of Anarchy

The populace has become discontent with previous economic problems, causing much of the population to become unemployed, with the insurgance of new corperations, and mining operations, the Goverment found new ways to acquire money, thus, the Imperial Credit was born, giving way to a much easier and reliable monentary useage.

Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 6.785 billion are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Education. The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Uranium Mining industry.

The government extracts trade concessions from poor nations in exchange for humanitarian aid, politicians are often seen with soldiers pointing guns at their heads, the government is avowedly secular, and protesters are up in arms over new nuclear power stations. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Gray Army's national animal is the Warp Spawn, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Imperial Credit.
