History
The United Republic of Greater Mactopia, Formerly Known as The Allied States of Greater Mactopia is a huge, devout nation of 900 Million run under a more conservative Socialist government led by President Richard Masters. This nation is doing suprisingly well after fighting for more than 10 years for Independence. Their first president was Richard Evans, who ruled for 8 years and helped get Mactopia back on her feet. During the 9th year, Mactopia picked up the Greater because of their new territories in the Great Sea and North Archaic Ocean.
The Great War
Mactopia was a small colony of the Great Empire in Hyrule in search of gold and other precious minerals. The Empire oversaw the running of 13 small, independent states making sure that the Empire recieved all of their colonies finds. The people grew tired of the oppressive government and held several small rallies with not great success, until one day, March 6th. March 6th was the day that the States became truely independent. A Declaration of Independence was formed up and written by the young politician, William Jenkins; and was signed by the 13 states goveners. In accordance with the signing of the treaty, the Militia of Mactopia, siezed 9 important bases of the Empire's, supplying the States with their much needed weaponry. On March 7th, the States officially declared their new name, The Allied States of Mactopia, under the control of the senate. Within the following weeks, an Army was conscripted and was placed under the command of General Richard Evans. The small nation battled hard for it's victory, including several famous battles such as the Battle of Mactopia Bay, The Southland Campaign and the surrendur at Locris. The small nation had pulled it off, 10 long years of fighting had secured themselves a free land.
The End of The Great War
The War concluded with the Surrendur at Locris, a key Northern City. The Empire had found themselved pushed up against the wall of Mactopia, with nowhere to run. Finally, on February 7th, a Peace Treaty was signed. Mactopia was a free Nation.
The Revolution
After the end of President Masters term, a Bolshevik revolution tore the country into 2 warring factions, the Green Army, whishing to restore peace and democracy and the Red Army, wanting to establish communism. This communist movement is being led by Igor Lenin, a Bolshevik leader with great power inside the organization. The Green Army is being led by Former President Richard Masters. The Revolution is currently being dealt with and The Green Army requested aid from other Hyrulian Nations.
Government
Mactopia is a Republic Government. It consists of an Executive Branch (President), a Judicial Branch (Supreme Court) and the Legislative Branch (Senate). The Government tends to have a very strict and conservative view on opinions and tends to sway more for Socialist ideas.

Geography
Mactopia is located in the Central Northern Part of Hyrule. It is made up of 4 islands. 3 are close together forming the "Continental", which is bordered by 4 bodies of water: The N. Archaic Ocean, The Clover Sea, Lake Spearhead and the North Sea; and 1 island in the Great Sea. The Continental consists of 12 states and the Island is the 13th, although, the Military dominates most of it, it is a very effective Trading Port, offering 3 free ports.
Continental Weather
The main continental climate is that of a mild climate, hot summers and cold winters. The nation has a SubTropical climate toward the southern tip offering excellent tourism areas with their fabulous white sand beaches and crystal clear waters.
Island Weather
The Island has a Tropical climate, hot humid summers with rain almost every day and cool winters. The Island is renouned for its white sand beaches, many tourist locations and is the place to dive in Hyrule.
Transportation and Communications Networks
Highway

In Greater Mactopia, highways are the most-used form of transportation. The highway system of the nation is called the National Highway System. Every major city in the country is connected by this system, along with the smaller ones. The countryside is also well-connected, although less so than the cities. The highways have no tolls, except at border crossings, around major cities, and at long bridges.
The highway hierarchy in Greater Mactopia is as follows:
- InterNational - goes through many states and/or bordering nations.
- InterState - goes through one state, usually connecting major cities.
- InterRegional - connects parts of a particular region, usually in the countryside.
Railway

Although the railway isn't used as much the highway, it is still important in crossing the country, especially since there are many trains. They serve all major cities and there are tracks that enter neighbouring countries.
There is no government-run railroad, and instead, there are many different ones covering a certain locale. The largest railroad is the Mactopia and Southland which starts at Mactopia, goes through Northland, Cental and down into Southland.
Airways
Most major cities in Greater Mactopia have an international airport. The main airline is the government-owned Macintosh Airways, which offers domestic, regional, and international connections.
Television

Television is something that is very dominant in Greater Mactopian society, with many people getting news and entertainment from it. There are few government-owned TV broadcasters.
Sattelite and cable services are also avaliable. Many of the commerical networks own other cable or sattelite channels.
Radio

Radio is another form of media that is prevelent. There used to be a government-owned radio station, called Mactopian Earsplitter, but it has since been dissolved. Most have changed affiliation to music stations.
In the 1960's, there were three major radio networks, which still are standing today.
Most radio stations are independent or owned by a larger company (although they can only own 25 stations at one time). The majority of those stations play music or sports news.
Newspaper

Ever since the rise of television and the internet, the newspaper industry has been in decline. The newspaper with the most subscribers is called the Daily Apple.
Religion
Greater Mactopia is a large religious state, with 700 Million claiming to be a follower of some faith. This is largely due to government support of religious services.
The religion with the most worshippers in Greater Mactopia is Roman Catholocism, totaling 400 million worshippers.The 2 largest religions revolve around one supreme being named "God", whom created Heaven and Earth, and all her land, oceans, animals and humans. The second largest religion is Protestantism, with a total of 170 million followers.
The third largest religion by number of worshippers is Judaism, with 65 million. After that, comes (in order) Islam, Hindu, and Mormonism.

Military
Greater Mactopia has a very strong military, consisting of over 13 million active service. There are 7 branches of Military Service: The Army, The Greater Mactopian Navy, The Coast Guard, The Air Force, The Marines, the Greater Mactopian National Guard and the Greater Mactopian Special Tactics and Rescue Squads.. The Minimum age for Military Service is 18. The Minimum age for a Draft is 16. Greater Mactopian Forces are often deployed with coalitions of HTO (Hyrulian Trade Oragnization) on anti-terrorist and peacekeeping operations in Hyrule.

Marines
The Marines are the first assault waves. They are some of the best fighting units in Hyrule. The Marines, as their slogan boasts "Always the first in and the last out!" The Marines are an elite branch and are proud to serve. The Marines have 12 Divisions. A standard Marine would carry: Camo, Kevlar Vest and Helmet, GA36 Assault Rifle, Frag Grenades, MREs, Shovel, Radio, Water Pack, Flashlight, Sleeping Bag, Personel Items and Boots.
The Navy is a key role in the transport and rearnament of the Marines and Army. They also have the 2nd largest air force in the Mactopian forces. The Navy has over 190 vessels, ranging from carriers, to frigates, to battleships, crusiers and submarines. There are a total of 4 fleets, Northern, Southern, Great Sea and Central Fleets. Each fleet has 40-50 Vessels and can survive on their own for about 8 months before needing to resupply.
Army
The Army plays a supporting role to the Marines. They have the same arnament as the Marines and are often deployed with Marines on HTO Misions.
Coast Guard/National Guard
Are the last line of defense for Mactopia. They protect the 13 states and their citizens the best that they can. The National Guard is often deployed after a distater in the homeland or an uprising beyond police control.
S.T.A.R.S
The Special Tactics and Rescue Squads are elite fighting units. They can be deployed to attack terrorists and retrieve hostages and special covert ops. They are armed with many new weapons that cannot be disclosed to the general public. But they are a combination of the USA Army Rangers, Navy SEALs, Delta Force and the British Commandoes. Most S.T.A.R.S. are Elite warriors, with advanced training and preparation. All soldiers speak 3 different languages and can and will rotate positions so they are familiar in all aspects of the squad tactics.
