Notes
Deceased. Starblaydia's joint-most successful manager ever with 5 World Cup Finals appearances.

A man remembered more for his management than his playing days, Guylain N'Dumbu-Nsungu passed away in his sleep at the grand old age of ninety-nine. He was the joint-oldest ex-international player, along with goalkeeper Boaz Myhill and midfielder Matthew Young. He wore the number 20 shirt in Starblaydia's first ever attempt to qualify for the World Cup in World Cup 15. In his six appearances in those Qualifiers he scored three times: in a three-nil win against Lemmitania, the fifth of a magnificent, glorious 5-1 victory over Dance 2 Revolution (then one of the higher-ranked teams in the world, with Starblaydia at a lowly 115th) and finally another against the Revolutionaries in a 1-1 draw at the end of the campaign. His other goal came against Nojika in the second Atlantian Oceania Cup of Association Football.

After scoring his goals for Starblaydia - made difficult by his international debut at the age of thirty-one - Guylain sat back, relaxed, and was made manager of the Starblaydia Under-21s. After some neat successes which dragged the senior Starblaydi side up the World Rankings, the senior team's Manager, Jean-Paul Georges-Ringeaux, was sacked. Guy stepped up to the plate and was promoted to the position of international Manager.

Although his substitution-making left a lot to be desired in most people's minds, Guy remained in firm control of the National side, despite being beset on nearly all sides by notables including Nikola "Laser" Lazerevski, Simeone Di Bradini and Starblaydi Minister for Sport and Double-Posts Lord Rikaard Van Honjiik. It was ultimately his World Cup Finals record in World Cup 21 that saw him forced out of his post. After failing to win a match against Total n Utter Insanity, Lovisa or South Osettia, Guy left his job by 'mutual consent'. In essence, he quit at the same time as being sacked.

At the age of fifty-nine he applied, and was accepted, for the job of managing the Hypocria national team. He signed a four-year contract, giving him time to mould a squad of Hypocrian players to send to World Cup 23 and its pre-tournament Baptism of Fire warm-up. In action, he took Hypocria to 3rd-Place at the Baptism of Fire, beating Vtorbetin 2-1 in Extra Time. A reasonable Qualifying campaign for the World Cup saw his contract extended and in the subsequent 9th AOCAF, Guylain's Hypocria side defeated his own country in the Quarter-Finals the competition on penalties, though Starblaydi football fans blamed the Streetian refereeing team for keeping the match at to a 1-1 scoreline, where they felt they were denied a number of fairly-made goals.

Despite being a Hypocrian hero for taking his team to the final of AOCAF 9, Guylain's Hyppos performed awfully in the Qualifiers for World Cup 24 and he was sacked from his post with two qualifying games to go as Hypocria sat rock bottom of Group Seven, replaced by Dave Wilson, the Sarzonian coach who led the Stars to World Cup glory in World Cup 22.

Guylain continued to take an role in football, this time from behind the scenes at his beloved Jhanna City, where he was made a non-executive Director of the club on his seventieth birthday.

(Guylain N'Dumbu-Nsungu is based loosely on a real football player, handily also called Guylain N'Dumbu-Nsungu, who currently plays for Darlington. He was in Starblaydia's World Cup 15 team, who had their names taken from a Premiership-Winning team of 2013/14 in Champ Manager 03/04)
