Conference on Hon-Human Sentience Schedule

Year One

  • Opening General Session: Forty days
    • During the Opening General Session, the Conference will be officially charged with its mission
      • Initial statements will be heard
      • Preliminary documents will be presented
      • Committees will be officially charged with their missions
  • Convention of Committees: One hundred and twenty days
    • Committees will hear statements and examine documents, and produce first drafts of the products demanded by their mission.
  • Second General Session: Forty days
    • During the Second General Session, the Conference will hear and discuss the first drafts of the Committees’ work
  • Recess: One hundred and sixty-five days

Year Two

  • Third General Session: Forty days
    • During the Third General Session, the Conference will hear official statements of response to the first drafts of the Committees’ work
      • Approved Addresses will be heard
      • Additional documents will be presented, and referred to Committees
      • Formal guidance will be provided to the Committees for the purposes of refining their work, and/or producing new material
  • Convention of Committees: One hundred and twenty days
    • Committees will review additional materials from the Third General Session and the Guidance of the General Session, hear statements and examine documents, refine their products appropriately, and produce any new material requested by the General Session.
  • Fourth General Session: Forty days
    • During the Fourth General Session, the Conference will hear and discuss the refinements of the Committees’ work
  • Recess: One hundred and sixty-five days

Year Three

  • Fifth General Session: Forty days
    • During the Fifth General Session, the Conference will hear official statements of response to the existing drafts of the Committees’ work
      • Approved Addresses will be heard
      • Additional documents will be presented, and referred to Committees
      • Formal guidance will be provided to the Committees for the purposes of refining their work, and/or producing final drafts
  • Convention of Committees: One hundred and twenty days
    • Committees will review the Guidance of the General Session and produce final drafts of their work for presentation to the General Session.
  • Closing General Session: Ninety days
    • During the Closing General Session, the Conference will hear and discuss the final drafts of the Committee’s work; and
    • Produce and approve final Declarations and Constitutions as required for submission to the Roman Pontiff.
