Hackian Laws
The Hackian Laws, also known as the Hackian Protocols, the Most Glorious Protocols, or simply the UN proposal rules, are the currently binding ruleset for United Nations proposals, instituted in 2005 by UN moderator The Most Glorious Hack. They were originally built off of the Enodian Laws, the first comprehensive ruleset for UN legislation. The proposal rules outline what exactly is not allowed in UN proposals, and help prevent proposals from purporting to do what they cannot do, like affect game mechanics or address RL politics. Proposal writers disregard the rules at their own risk: submitting illegal proposals may result in moderator warnings or expulsion from the UN. Other examples of things that are banned from proposal writing include "metagaming" offenses such as targeting specific nations or regions; joke proposals; creating a UN military or police force; dishonest repeal arguments; submitting under the wrong category; grossly offensive proposals (including those using racist or sexually explicit language); and a practice known as "branding." Many of these offenses were common features in historic resolutions; unfortunately, the rules are not retroactive.
