istory of Hammerund

"Hammerund wasn't built in a day"

Like many countries, Hammerund has a long history, that has been wrote with fire, blood and the bodies of many generations whose gave their lifes for the future, actually, our present days.

In the year 742 B.C., the desert island known as Härn was colonized by a group of Nordics guided by Lars Solhër, who looked for better lands to cultivate. After five years of hard work and maybe four of the worst winters in the history of our nation, just 78 of the 237 men, women and children had survived, they became the five founders families of Hammerund: Solhër, Sternhäg, Ljuberg, Larsen and Swordegaard. These families made a pact to keep them united pacifically, to be able to survive the hard times that approached. That pact begins a period of 98 years of calm, peace, understanding and weddings between the five families. The population increased fastly, and new villages were founded, each of them with people of the five families.
