"The Majestic Twelve of Haor Chall is a massive, economically powerful nation, notable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 4.994 billion are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Commerce. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 13%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Automobile Manufacturing, Uranium Mining, and Arms Manufacturing industries.
Nervous homeowners have been blamed for rising death rates amongst carol singers and locksmiths, corporate 'hostile takeovers' now involve ICBMs and main battle tanks, military spending is on the increase, and the country has been 'going shopping' by annexing nearby nations for their resources. Crime is a problem. Haor Chall's national animal is the Droideka, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Republic Credit."
Haor Chall is a giant world-wide conglomerate of powerful industrial corporations, its leaders are shadowy and reclusive prefering to manipulate events to further the wealth and power of the corporation. Whilst Haor Chall began as a heavy industry corporation, and still is, it now collectively has a degree of involvement in nearly every sector. Its power is such that it is treated akin to a nation on the international stage and in many countries, such as the Guild Authority, the support of Haor Chall is essential for political power. The Majestic Twelve is the name given to the leaders of the Corporation, who always number twelve. Their identity remains unknown. The Combine is also rumoured to have strong links with a secretive religious cult, although such links have never been proven.
The Haor Chall Combine remains most active in The North Pacific, where it provides 'advise' to the government.
