Hatavia is an independent kingdom in the region of Romagna Wakesburg. It has a long and proud history within the region as a minor kingdom, but spent almost 75 years under the domination of the Empire of Wakesburg. Its patron saint is St. Ferdinand, and its capital is Theresaberg.

History

Hatavia started life as a small German enclave in the region one day known as Romagna Wakesburg. It was a small farming community throughout the middle ages. During this period, an excommunicated Inquisitioner named Rudulfo came to the region, persecuting the villages. Eventually, Rudulfo arrived at the castle of the local Baron, Ferdinand. It was here that Rudulfo tried to execute the baron, but overstepped his reach and was killed by Ferdinand. This changed the young baron, who immediately set out to undo the damage done to Hatavia. He built churches and monestaries throughout the countryside, eventually meeting his future wife, Theresa in the village of Wolfsgarten. Here he established his court, and began to consolidate Hatavia under his rule. He renamed the city in honor of his wife, and began to embellish it every work of art, every service he could provide, and a marvelous citadel was constructed at the city's center. It was here that Ferdinand was crowned King of Hatavia by the local Archbishop, just hours before he was struck by lightning. The Archbishop, Roger de Tankerville, took it as an omen that God desired his servant in heaven, and had Ferdinand canonized.
