The history of Gurenn began around 60.000 BC. The first human beings started to live at the Gurennese mainland at that time. The first cultures started to develop from about 10.000 BC.

Kamitsuyo (10.000 BC - 1000 AD)

Jitsubutsu period (10.000 BC - 660 BC)

The first examples of pottery in Gurenn have been found in this period. The original inhabitants of Gurenn developed their own culture and language in this period. They had their own nature religion.

Tenma period (660 BC - 300 AD)

The nation of Gurenn was founded on February 11, 660 BC by Gurenn Sutakukesutado. He was sent down to Terra by the gods (and he was actually a god himself) to found the nation of Gurenn. He was accompanied by other people made by the gods. Together they drove the indigenous people away to the islands north and south of Gurenn. The local beliefs of the Jitsubutsu people combined with the tales of gods of the Tenma people became the base of Aniatism. When the nation was conquered, Gurenn named it after himself and was crowned the first Emperor. The current Imperial Family are still descendants of him.

Shinka period (300 - 700)

This period had some of the most distinguishing developments Gurenn has ever known. In 405 the kanji script that is still in use today was introduced by foreigners. The foreigners braught Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism with them to Gurenn. These ideas strongly influenced Aniatism. The first constitution was written by Emperor Umayado in 604. This constitution is still in use today. It only prohibits the act of damage towards a person of his property. The current Emperor still has to follow this constitution. An own calendar was made up in 607. It placed the year 1 at 660 BC. This calendar continued to be used until 1903, when the Gregorian calendar was introduced. Since 694, mass immigrations of demons and vampires from Demontropius occured. Their language influenced the one of the Gurennese and a remarkable demon and vampire population can still be seen today.

Hokyo period (700 - 800)

Gurenn got his first capital city, Hokyo, in 700. This was the largest city of Gurenn in those times. The first written book ever in Gurenn, Shifurui, appeared in 712. It contained a lot of information about the gods honored in Aniatism. The second book, Gurenn Shoki, was published in 720 and contained a lot of information about Gurennese history until that time. It recorded the genealogy and life of all Emperors until 720.

Nankyo period (800 - 1000)

Nankyo became the capital of Gurenn in 800. It grew larger than Hokyo in the 6th century and because of this the Emperor decided to move. Novels about the Imperial Court were written during this period.

Mannaka (1000 - 1600)

Soso period (1000 - 1300)

This period is recognized by the conquering of the islands of Chuuoshima (1274) and Hoshima (1281). Both islands were added to Gurenn.

Kiho period (1300 - 1500)

In 1449 white people came with ships. They tried to spread Christianity through Gurenn, but failed miserably because of demon opposition. Christianity did influence Aniatism in some way, though. The samurai class came up in this period.

Jikangai period (1500-1600)

The Emperor of that time conquered the island of Nanshima in 1592. The island was added to Gurenn.

Arata (1600 - 1900)

Saikyo period (1600 - 1900)

During the centuries Nankyo was Gurenn's capital Saikyo slowly grew from a tiny fishers village to the biggest city in Gurenn. This didn't go unnoticed and in 1600 the Emperor moved to Saikyo with his family. Saikyo still continues to be Gurenn's capital today.

Konnichiteki (1900 - 1990)

Mokushi period (1900 - 1910)

The Gurennese industrial revolution started under Emperor Mokushi. In 1902 the first railroad in Gurenn was opened. It goes from Saikyo to Roppoumi. The Gregorian calendar is in use since 1903.

Shou period (1910-1930)

Emperor Shou took over, but his son Arcea ruled over Gurenn since 1921 because Emperor Shou was sick. An enormous earthquake destroyed Saikyo and Roppoumi in 1923, but they were rebuild more modern than ever.

Arcea period (1930 - 1990)

Emperor Arcea became the official emperor when Emperor Shou died. Gurenn became a member of the United Nations in 1956. Armor vehicles were mass produced under Emperor Arcea in 1988. Luxias and Deffice demanded for this to be stopped, but this was ignored. Deffice launched an attack on Gurenn and the War of Ages began. Meanwhile Luxias started a training program for spies to infiltrate Gurenn and bring down the defense computer. Gurenn relaunched a missile, but Luxias changed the direction of the missile to the Dark Sea with their radar. The mist enshrouding the waters was blown away and an island was revealed. Meanwhile Emperor Arcea died of old age and was succeeded by his son, Emperor Nnelg. Emperor Nnelg sent a ship to the island to investigate, but the ship was destroyed by lightning. Deffice sent a ship to the island. Emperor Nnelg tried to find out what happened and the Luxian spies infiltrated Gurenn, deleted the blueprints for the vehicles and made the defense computer crash. Emperor Nnelg proposed the Treaty of Four. Meanwhile Emperor Miikage returned from the island, which appeared to be called Demontropius, with their Emperor, Emperor Arcana. Emperor Livata of Luxias meeted with the other three Emperors and together they signed the treaty.

Ania (1990 - present)
