Prehistoric Life
Part I (50,000 - 20,000 years ago)
50, 000 years ago much of the URF was covered in ice. A corridor through section 23, MPA, and southwest WDyW was begining to form. It is around this time that northern nomadic people found their way to our region. Early archaeological evidence from digs in Ballermia indicates that they hunted seals and were developing art. These people moved down through the corridor and probably formed part of what are today's indigenous people.
Approximately 40 000 years ago much of the ice had receded and a second migration began, this time from the south. These people settled in Zorphbucket, Insomniac Island, and Austria-Edwardia, with hunting sites in WDyW and Edward-City. Evidence of trade between these peoples and the northerners exists as seal bones were found in Zorphbucket dating from this period.
By 30 000 years ago much of the glaciers had receded leaving in their wake the forests swamplands and plains in WDyW. Around this time the southerners developed extensive agriculture, while the many of the northerners began to settle in semi-permanent hunting towns. It is though that the southernmost towns were occupied year round and sustained through trade with the northernmost agricultural villages and hunting, while the more northern hunting towns were abandoned in the summer and occupied during the fall and winter.
25 000 years ago Insomniac Island began to develop the first kingdom. What they called themselves roughly translates as "The Sleepless Ones". The Kings of the land attempted early forms of total dictatorship, but didn't entirely succeed due to an inability to control mass media and transport. Agriculture also spread further north and attempts at agriculture can be found up to the swamplands (where it wasn't until the 20th century that technology developed suitable for agriculture there). In the WDyW plains village developed that farmed during the summer and hunted a during the fall and winter.

Modern History
Part I (1850-1880)
In 1850, the Edwardian Empire broke in several parts; most of it's coast joined to form Work Damn you Work, it's Eastern area formed the nation of Insert States Here and the rest of the Empire stayed as the Edwardian Kingdom.
In 1853, the nation of My Political Arm established diplomatical relations with the Edwardian Kingdom after the MPA-Edwardian War several years before, in which most of the population of both MPA and Edwardia was wiped out.
In 1855, the Continental Science Community was founded and established by the greatest brains of all of the Continent. It's first affair was to give a name to the continent, several names were proposed: Pacifica, Europeania, Cogotoria, but finally it was chosen The United Region of Friends to end with the warful past of the Continent and to began with a new prosperous future.
In 1858, the United Region of Friends Parliament was established by the Edwardian Kingdom, My Political Arm, Work Damn you Work, Insert States Here and Insomnia Island and elected Jaques Ryan, form My Political Arm, as the new President of the URF. In 1860, a Supervolcano located at the Northwest of the continent erupted making appear the peninsula known as the "Hammer Peninsula". This eruption caused a 10 year long winter wich caused most of URF citizens to die of starvation. Then, the recently elected new President of the URF, Alfred Wilkins, from Edwardia, declared state of emergency and the establishment of emergency agricultural zones at Insomnia Island. In 1862, many nations as Archedon and New Conemaugh had disappeared due to problems with food and starvation related deaths.
In 1863 the first zombie outbreak was reported at a small town at Insert States Here. This history was believed fantasy until present. In 1867, the nations of Austriia and Edwardia accorded to merge and ally forming the Austro-Edwardian Empire. In 1868, the URF Parliament voted and approved unanimously the expulsion of Austria-Edwardia from the URF Parliament. In 1870, Austria-Edwardia declared war on WDyW. The same year, My Political Arm announced the invention by their scientists of the Telephone, wich helped to send messages though the region faster than the Telegraph.
In 1875, the Balearic Islands and Eastern Atinesia became independent forming the Kingdom of Edward City ruled by King Edward I, a far familiar of Prince Karl I of Austria-Edwardia. The same year, Austria-Edwardia declared war on Edward City turning the WDyW-AustriaEdwardian war into a two front war with Edward City at one and WDyW at the other. In 1878, war ended and Peace was declared, for another time peace reigned in the URF. In 1880, the URF Parliament approved the reincorporation of Austria-Edwardia into the URF Parliament.
Part II (1881-1899)
In 1881 quite all efects of the deadly 1860 eruption had disappeared and life was repopulating URF's farms and fields. In 1882, the URF Parliament established world's first counter-disaster reaction unit with an essential mission of protecting people against natural disasters.
In 1883 the Kingdom of Edward City joined the URF Parliament under heavy pressure from the Austro-Edwardian government to not allow Edward City to join the URF. In 1884 took place at the city of Edwardia the Edwardia Conference in wich representors of all nations of the URF assisted to plan the partition of the southern URF continent.
In 1885, several small guerrilla attacks happened through all Austro-Edwardian soil on an intent of disintegrate the Empire. In 1886 the colonial nation of My Political Arm began to give independence to their over-exploded colonies at the southern continent of the United Region of Friends.
In 1887 the Scramble of Southernia as historians began with the total partition of the continent between the 2 biggest empires, Work Damn you Work and Austria-Edwardia.
In 1888, the URF Joint Stock Exchange was founded at My Political Arm. In 1889, the Work Damn you Work government, to have people entertained, organised the first land run in all URF history at what would become the Work Damn you Work southern continent area.
Part III (1890-1899)
In 1890, the WDyW colony at Southernia declares independence under a colonial government established by those who participed on the 1889 land run. In 1891, the URF Parliament declares Southernia a "URF Official Independant Protectorate" causing all colonies on Southernia to become independant. This decision caused many people all around the URF to create an anti-URF movement to return their nations their sovereignty and then, in 1892, the "Sovereign Coalition of the URF" (SCURF) is created by some rogue nations at the URF.
In 1893, the "SCURF" accomplishes it's objectives and seizes the Parliament building at Zingatan, causing a state of emergency at the entire URF. Many hours after the SCURF operation, the URF Parliament is retaken by military forces from WDyW, Austria-Edwardia, MPA and Zingatan leaving a death toll of 218 SCURF militia and 159 URF forces men.
In 1894, the "SCURF" is totally disengaged by URF forces and their member nations return to the URF. In 1895, the first moving picture film is displayed in Giant Livestock Auction, WDyW.
In 1896, the first URFympic Games take place in the city of Amberes, marking the beggining of a new era of sport. In 1898, the MPA ship, "MPA Main" is sunk at Amberes Port. MPA authorities, believing that it was caused by an Edwardian submarine mine, declare war on the Edward City Empire. Later on that year, New Moose Town Peace Conference tooks place and Peace is declared but Edward City cedes Amberes and it's southernian colonies to MPA for €d$20,000,000.
In 1899, Felix Hoffermann, an Austro-Edwardian scientist patents the Ëspirin.
Part IV (1900-1913)
Introduction
In early Twentieth Century, the URF society began transforming itself into a more cosmopolitan and intellectual society. The illustration period ended many years ago and the classicism many years before it, but many of the principles of those periods remained on society's mind.
- Twentieth Century
In 1900, a rail line between the city of Edwardia, at Austria-Edwardia, and the capital of WDyW, becoming the first rail line between two national capitals in the URF. The same year, the URFympic Games take place on Giant Livestock Auction, WDyW. In 1901, Edward City Prime Minister, William McArthur, is killed by a rebel anarchist.
In 1902, Amberes gains independence from MPA, but is rapidly retaken by Edward City Forces. In 1903, the URF Parliament decides to ban war between it's member nations, but it is also later banned saying that, "it's impossible to ban war".
In 1904, the URFympic Games take place on My Political Arm. In 1905, an eminent Work Damn you Workian scientist, Albert Moosenstein, publishes papers that lay the foundations for quantum physics. In 1906, several earthquakes ocurred through all the URF causing many victims. In 1908, an asteroid crashed at Insert States Here in wich was known as the "Trunguskia Event". In 1910, the northern island of the Edwardian Archipélago disappears into the sea after an earthquake killing 3 million.
In 1911, a MPAn Navy ship realizes the first airplane landing on a boat. In 1912, the SS König von Edwardia sank along with 1350 other people. In 1913, a group of marines of Edward City take the royal palace and declare the United States of Edward City.
Part V (1914-1918)

Post-war treaties
In 1919, the Icaris Peace Conference was organized by the victors of URF War I to negotiate the peace treaties between the Allied and Associated Powers and the defeated Central Powers. The conference opened on 18 January 1919 and lasted until 21 January 1920 with a few intervals. To the Conference attended representors from:
- Edward City
- Icaris
- My Political Arm
- Zingatan
- Terran Inhabitants
- The Proletariat World
- Ballermia
(Nova-Ruskya was not invited at the Conference)
In that Conference the Allied decided that:
1. Work Damn you Workian Army would be reduced, and that a large area of WDyW would be given to MPA and Icaris.
2. That the Austro-Edwardian Empire would be annexed by Edward City.
3. And that the Insert States Herean Empire would be partitioned and the areas resulting of this partitioning would be given to the newly created state of The Proletariat World and to Zingatan.
Later in 1919 the Treaty of Icaria was signed, ending officially the URF War I between the Allied Powers and Work Damn you Work. It was signed exactly 5 years after the assassination of Archduke Francisco Fernando, the event that triggered the start of the war. Although the armistice signed on November 11, 1918 put an end to the actual fighting, it took six months of negotiations at the Icaris Peace Conference to conclude a peace treaty. Of the many provisions in the treaty, one of the most important and controversial provisions required WDyW and its allies to accept full responsibility for causing the war and, under the terms of articles 231-248, disarm, make substantial territorial concessions and pay reparations to certain countries that had formed the Allies. The Treaty was undermined by subsequent events starting as early as 1922 and was widely flouted by the mid thirties.
Part VII (1920-1935)
During the 1920s the economy of Edward City boomed. Without much regulation many made huge fortunes on the stock market (using tactics that are now illegal throughout much of today's URF). Due to Edward City's economic position it had become the primary money lender to both the allied powers and the former central powers who were recovering from the war. This led to the entire URF to became dependant on Edward City's economy as they owned huge debts to USDC.
In October of 1929 signs of a fluctuating stock market were beggining and a huge of pullout occurred at stocks and brokers attempted to sell their stocks while they were still valuable. By the end of the month the market had bottomed out. This was the start of the Great URF Depression. Over the next few years unemployment spread rampantly throughout USEC and into neighboring URF nations. The 1930s also witnessed a huge drought, when combined with the primitive farming techniques (compared to today) lead to further economic worry. To make things worse WDyW was attempting to re industrialize and pay off war reparations through selling agricultural products below market value, which lead to an inability for domestic produce to be sold in many nations. (although this effect was minimized by the WDyW civil war)
By 1935 the URF drought leveled out and the economy was begging to stablise (thanks in part to the "Newish Dealy"). However, it was at this time that ISH flagrantly violated the Icaris Treaty. The ISH economy began to become a powerhouse and was growing in military production.
Part VIII(1936-1938)
In 1936, the Insert States Here organised a games called the "Racial Games", in wich compited the best of the best of the URFian sports. The games were boicoted by some nations including Work Damn you Work, The Proletariat World, Terran Inhabitants, Zingatan and My Political Arm.
In 1937, scientists from all the United States of Edward City developed the first nuclear bomb in all URFean history and finally, on the 23rd of May, a bomb with an explosive power equalable to 2,000,000 tons of TNT exploded on an isolated, desertical area at Eastern Atinesia.
In 1938, the URF parliament decided to eject Insert States Here and to broke ties with them.

Reconstruction Efforts
After the war, the United Region of Friends and it's people had been almost wiped out of the map, but a nation of the URFean horn prevailed relatively intact for the entire war and it's consequences, (Nuclear Winter, Radiation Diseases, etc.)
The Terran Liberal States, despite of being a comunist nation, was the greatest economy at the time in the entire region and had to help other nations of the URF to heal their economies. And then, the International Economy Healing Plan (IEHP) was conceived by the Terran Liberal Premier.
Comunist World Domination Plot
The 1st January 1950, the IEHP was activated. During the months that followed the activation of the IEHP, the regional economy started to grow and expand, but the thing that people didn't know was that the IEHP funded, secretly, comunist sleeping cells stationed at the IEHP-helped nations. On November 5th, many nations that where helped by the IEHP suffered simultaneous coups organised by comunist groups. This fact made people all around the URF to see the truth behind the IEHP. Finally, coups where succesfull only at Terran Inhabitants and The Proletariat World. The World was safe another time.
