Holden Patrick Reid, Captain (ret.), ARA (Born 18 April, 1968) is the seventh and current President of the Aequatian Republic, before his presidency, Reid served as the Vice President under Dr. Kurt Moltke and assumed the presidency after Moltke voluntarily resigned due to health issues.
Early Life
Born to Sydney and Nancy Reid on 18 April, 1968 at Arrio Civic Hospital, Holden was raised from an early age to be a responsible leader, as the eldest of five children by either years, he helped his mother care for his siblings before completing his secondary education at the Arrio Central High School.
National Service
Upon graduation, like all Aequatians at age 18, he was conscripted into service with the National Guard for the compulsory three-year contract and served with a clean record until his honourable discharge in 1989, after which he enlisted in the Aequatian Republic Army as an officer cadet and studied at Arrio University where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Political Science. He served another three years and retired at the rank of First Lieutenant, having served with the 41st Infantry Division (Mechanized).
Political Career
After leaving the Army, Reid was introduced to his career in politics by joining the Centralist Party and representing the Southern District of Arrio in the National Senate for two terms before being chosen by President Nicklas Blume to fulfill the duties of the Undersecretary of State. Upon Blume's resignation and Kurt Moltke assuming the office, Reid was personally chosen by the president, who skipped over numerous, more senior people in doing so, to act as Vice President and President of the National Senate.
After Kurt Moltke resigned from office due to ailing health, Reid assumed the office of president.
