History

The area of Hollnersville was first explored by Dutch explorer Hendrik van Schellinkhout in the late 1600s. The first known settlement is in the downtown of Hollnersville. The land soon went for sale, and was purchased by various families from across western Europe. The most notable family was the Hollners. One of the Hollners reportedly purchased the land at the mouth of the river, and set up farms there. The area became known as Hollnersville. The area grew, and more people moved into Hollner's little village, until it began to become a small city.

In 1753, the area was taken over by Great Britain. The area proceeded under British rule until 1803, when the citizens revolted. The Republic of Kedalfax helped with the revolution, and at the end, the land was given to them by Britain. The people of the area had wanted their own nation, but decided that Kedalfaxian rule was better for them.

Transportation

Roadways

Hollnersville has four major motorways. They are numbered HM-1 through HM-4.

HM-1

This motorway starts at the southern boarder of the colony, runs north through Hollnersville, where it is sunken underground through the downtown area. It intersects with HM-2 under City Square. It resurfaces on the other side of the river, where it intersects with HM-4. It continues on to the northern boarder.

HM-2

This motorway starts at Creer Island, just off the coast of downtown Hollnersville, and takes a tunnel into downtown, were it intersects HM-1 under City Square. It continues underground until just after Riverside Park, where it resurfaces and continues along the south coast of the river until ending at the eastern boarder.

HM-3

HM-3 starts at the southern boarder, and continues north to the M.A. Coeymans bridge in the Bronck's. It then proceeds into the Ten Broeck district, where it goes underground below the Hollnersville International Airport. It resurfaces and intersects with HM-4. It then continues to the northern boarder.

HM-4

This motorway starts at the Port of Hollnersville, intersects HM-1 just outside of the yet-unnamed river tunnel, and continues east along the north coast of the river until the eastern boarder.

Airport

Hollnersville International Airport was built in 1983. The airport is located in the Ten Broeck district. It has two east-west runways.
